Some farmland goes up to 39 acres. → 9 officers who had shown property earlier now show "nil". → Indian Express asked the Cabinet Secretariat and DoPT how this is checked. No reply. Now connect the dots. The Lokpal law said every officer must declare ALL assets, just like MPs and candidates. In December 2016, under the Modi govt, that section was amended. It now says the rules will come "in due course". It's 2026. Ten years later, those rules are still not made. A form with an empty value column means nobody can tell if the property is worth ₹50 lakh or ₹50 crore. And when the govt is asked who checks these forms, it goes silent.
