Tokenization has been one of the most exciting themes of this cycle, yet I still think we’re barely scratching the surface.
So far we’ve mostly taken already-liquid TradFi assets and put them onchain, but the outsized potential lies in tokenizing the illiquid, even the physical, and making it both tradeable and composable with DeFi.
An example: Portfolio-margin style borrowing has traditionally been reserved for UHNW private bank clients. Tokenizing physical assets democratizes this. Imagine owning a fraction of a yield-bearing data centre with a hyperscaler tenant, posting it as collateral, and borrowing against its future cash flows to lever into the infrastructure being built on top of it.

For the first time, we're seeing early glimpses of real-time price discovery in physical markets.
We've shared a price action visualisation of Saudi Arabia's largest oil refinery, Ras Tanura, trading on Loaf's testnet against the backdrop of the escalating Gulf conflict and Iran war.

One of my uncles Glen has been in hospice and awaiting his journey into the cosmos. He sent me a text message reflecting on his life. I’m not sure why but i think it’s worth sharing. He’s badass and one of his last messages is even more so.
“Since the age of 10, I have despised authority and gave the finger to anyone telling me what to do. Living life on my own terms however required departing my comfort zone. Riding against the wind resulted in countless broken bones, nights in jail, felony charges, jumping out of airplanes, swimming on the sea floor, motorcycle crashes, fist fights, shattered romances, and everything from toe curling ecstasy to stark raving terror. There was no logic to any of this. I did it just because I felt like it. Without a doubt, though it was worth every fucking stitch!”
