the windows search announcement reminded me not everyone's windows works like this
In this What's in my Raycast, @hugorcd shows how he tests MCPs, runs automations every morning, dictates in French and gets English, and asks Raycast AI to build his own extensions.
A must watch!

Small quality of life detail:
Hold ⌘ when you check off a parent todo and all its child todos get checked off too.
Works with the keyboard too: ⌘ + ⇧ + ↵
Shipped yesterday.
Our team is hitting the road this month with 2 events in 2 cities with our friends at @meetgranola and @raycast:
October 22 (SF) - Craft at Speed
@brendanrc2 and @figma talk shipping polished software fast, with plenty of time to chat with speakers and other guests.
October 29 (Paris) - The New Standard
@artman and engineering leaders from Raycast and @mistralAI will share what they've learned about shipping in the AI era, from architecture and reliability to how we hire, and what we’re building toward in 2027.
Extensions in @raycast get better every day
spent a day improving raycast extensions. 16 prs merged
- hide details: reversible redaction
- agent browser: manage sessions
- paste.rs: language options + paste selected text
- litterbox: upload finder selection

details below 🧵
Our new file search ⚡
I realised that we didn't really talk much about our custom index in Raycast that replaces Spotlight. It was already 20× faster than Spotlight in our benchmarks.
After recent hype around fsearch from @itsnoahd, we pushed it even further, so it's 6x faster than before in 2.8.0.

Use the Send Element to AI command to turn any text or image on your screen into context.
Just ask:
“What does this error mean?”
“Explain this chart.”
“Give me three alternatives to this.”
I use it with a double-tap of the right ⌥ key.

I have so many similar workflows with AI. Reading data from one source and updating another one. Calendar, PRs, Notion pages, you name it.
signed up with the personal trainer of my local neighbourhood gym to get a few personalised sessions. the sessions came with the neighborhood gym iOS app, which as you can imagine, it looked and felt just like a neighborhood gym iOS app would
so I decided to try Push, but couldn't figure out how to use it. looked cool at a glance but the gamification threw me off. almost thought I accidentally downloaded a Mortal Kombat app at one point
so then I downloaded Hevy, which to be fair I had been put off by the brand/design, but actually it has the best UX, and turns out I don't need my workout tracking app to be that beautiful, it just needs to work well, be fast, and out of my way
turns out Hevy supports MCP too (which i couldnt find in Push either), so I connected it with @raycast AI, sent screenshots from my neighborhood's gym app to it and asked for it to re-create it in Hevy, and it did so perfectly
i love use cases like this. i am not gonna vibe code my own gym app, trust me, that is probably one of the last things I wanna do with my time. I just want an app that is purpose built and well thought of, tested, and it just works. but then I can use AI to move things around and not be locked to one app

🎶 Enjoyed The Strokes with @pitnikola
🧑🏫 Demoed my automations at lunch with @NotionHQ
I really like that detail in our new Auto model in @raycast. It visually shows which range of models our router picks from.
for the new Auto model in @raycast I came up with a spider/radar chart to allow users to compare the 3 preferences we offer: lightweight, balanced, and flagship. it's a tradeoff between speed, cost, and intelligence. it felt natural and fun to present the capabilities this way. wdyt?
