The Anand Niketan School in Ahmedabad, Gujarat was fined ₹10,000 by authorities for keeping books like Anne Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl and Malala Yousafzai’s I Am Malala in its library. These books were "optional". They also terminated the services of a curriculum consultant.
Ahmedabad citizens decided to read books in public to protest against this action. BJP/RSS goons attacked in large numbers. The police has refused to register an FIR.

It’s been 6 years, everyone has seen the video of Kapil Mishra trying to instigate violence standing next to DCP.
In Feb 2020, Justice Murlidhar of Delhi High Court pulled up Delhi police and Central Govt for not registering the FIR against Kapil Mishra.
That very day at 11 PM in night, the law Dept of Central Govt issued the notification to transfer justice Murlidhar.
And till today , even an FIR has not been filed.
This is new India.

Insane framing.
He was anally gang-raped.
He was severely beaten and then anally gang-raped on camera. Both a knife and a taser were reportedly used.
There was a hole in his rectal wall. He got surgery for it.
Because he was anally gang-raped by the IDF (on camera).
He also had 7 broken ribs and other injuries as well.
After it happened, Israelis staged multiple large protests in the streets. Not because they believe these soldiers did anything wrong, but because they were infuriated that the soldiers were arrested for anally gang-raping a Palestinian on camera.
These protests weren’t just random people. They included multiple high ranking Knesset members (their Congress) who defended the anal gang/rapists.
They didn’t stop there. They went after the lawyer who leaked the video. She was publicly smeared, was forced to resign, and was arrested.
And now the anal gang-rapists who were caught on camera have had their charges dropped. They didn’t win in court. They weren’t somehow exonerated. The charges were completely and indefensibly dropped. The Jerusalem Post reports that there was sufficient evidence to take this to trial.
This is part of a larger pattern of torture and impunity. NYT and many other major outlets have extensively detailed the abuses at the Sde Teiman torture factory. NYT reported that Prisoners lose 30+ pounds, a nurse was anally raped by a metal rod, another man was raped by a dog, and another was anally raped by a fiery hit rod until he died. Yes, the NYT reported all of that. I’ll share sources in the replies. Torture and sexual assault are commonplace at Sde Teiman, and many prisoners die in the process.
The UN concluded that rape from IDF soldiers is so commonplace that it constitutes official “strategy of war”.
And of course these monsters virtually never face jail time. Because Israelis by and large don’t have any problem with any of it.
This is just what their society does.
They torture Palestinians.

Water mafia didn’t sneak in.
It was invited with red carpets, Fortune covers, and celebrity endorsements.
Next stop: ₹50 for 500 ml while the Dalit basti queue stretches for kilometres and Ambani’s market share hits 30%.
This isn’t development.
This is the last basic necessity being auctioned off while we clap for “affordable” branded water.

we are no longer in contact, so i rly don’t care to say this but when i was in thailand this year, i was invited to someone’s home. there was a housekeeper there doing her job, let’s call her bim, and with her was her 12 year old daughter, sitting in the yard doing schoolwork.
host asked bim to cut a platter of fruit for me, and she said of course. but because she took a minute too long, as she was already busy with a task, host told bim to ask her daughter, who was still doing her maths homework to do the platter instead. i said to bim, “there’s no rush for fruit, it’s okay, i can see the little sister is doing schoolwork.”
host replied in english, not in thai that “it’s better to train her while she’s young” as if this young girl’s future had already been written for her, not in dreams or choices, but in servitude to someone richer who never saw her or her mum as anything more than cheap exploitable labour.
i was outwardly disturbed by this comment and i think my blunt swiss nature took over cos I said “is cruelty your idea of humour?”
