October 21, 1975. 51 years ago today, Carlton Fisk hit one of the most iconic home runs of all time. He waved it fair to win Game 6 of the 1975 World Series in the 12th inning for the Red Sox. One of the greatest moments in baseball history.

For the record, the president of the United States is now simultaneously claiming that he has won the war, is currently winning the war, needs help to win the war, and needs no help to win the war. All to destroy the nuclear program he claims to have already destroyed last year.

My great grandfather Theodore Roosevelt jr (and his brother) are buried in Normandy.
Even as sons of a president, born into privilege, they understood they had an equal obligation to serve this great nation.
There is a “loser” here, but it is not anyone buried in Normandy.
