Module 9 done. Standing tall again at LC-36! The Vehicle Access Tower is fully assembled, with every module repaired and back in place. This was a monumental effort. Proud of Team Blue.

Quite a sight to see the progress this team has made since May 28. Wreckage recovery from start to finish was completed in 9 days, and all debris has been cleared from Launch Complex 36. Huge shoutout to the team who have been working 7x24. We have started reconstruction and still plan to fly again this year. Will have more details on the new conop soon.

Some LC-36 updates. Now that we’ve had access to the pad and integration facility we can share a bit of good news. The propellant farm, oxygen, liquid hydrogen and LNG tanks are all in good shape. This is good luck because these are very long lead items. The water tower is also good. The big support tower is damaged, but it can be repaired in place rather than torn down and replaced. The booster “Never Tell Me The Odds” and the three GS-2s that were onsite in the integration facility also look good. I’ve seen some speculation that we might move directly to the 9x4 configuration, but we won’t do that. Rate manufacturing of 7x2 is going well, and we’re going to continue that at pace as planned and store the stages for use. In addition, we had already been working for some time on eliminating our transporter-erector in favor of an alternative vertical conop, and we’ll now go directly to that; so we don’t need a new transporter-erector. We will fly again before the end of this year. Gradatim Ferociter.

Selfie time!!! My crew snapped this photo of me and my bestie @Astro_Christina using one of the solar array wing cameras on our Orion spacecraft! When we're not taking selfies, we take pictures of the Moon and Earth and record what we see for scientists back home. -Rise

I don't think there is anyone on the planet who has done more live rocket broadcasts than me. I literally have done *hundreds* of them over the last 18 years. And some of the largest launch broadcasts on the planet too! I say this not to brag, but to convey a level of expertise in launch broadcasts that I think few, if any, can beat. Ok, maybe brag a little 👸 I know a lot of people were not super happy with NASA's coverage, specifically at liftoff. But man, let me tell you... As someone who has done hundreds of these... IT IS FREAKING HARD! I have personally had bad liftoff sequences too. It happens. And it sucks. And I hated it when I did that. To me. And to you. It is hard to convey just how complex liftoff is during a broadcast. It is a moment in time where nearly every view is available, but very few are viable. You never truly know which ones will be viable either, so it's a guessing game and a bit of luck. You have to scan through to find the shots that work, but you only have *seconds* to do this. Seconds. I have learned over the years that a technical director (vision mixer) needs an A and B plan for liftoff. Generally engines -> pass through -> medium -> wide -> super wide -> track scope -> track spot for the A plan. The B plan is usually far easier with engines -> wide -> super wide -> track scope. The switcher control surface needs to be set up to execute these plans extremely quickly. And even if you do all of this, a gust of wind blowing smoke the wrong way can foil the best of plans. It. Is. Hard. I hear ya all, but let's cut NASA some slack here. They have amazing people working the launch. They have many people they need to support in their broadcast including the media, schools, NASA employees, government officials, and the public. It is like getting pulled in a billion different ways all at once. Was liftoff coverage epic? No. I mean, it just wasn't. Will they learn from this and make Artemis III better? I believe they will. I know the people working these things, and they are great. Don't let one launch paint a bad picture here. There is enough space for everyone. If you didn't like NASA's coverage, then @NASASpaceflight, @TLPN_Official, @Erdayastronaut, @SpaceflightNow and more had other, amazing options that may suit your tastes better. We live in a time where you have incredible options. It's awesome and exciting. Oh, and WE HAVE FOUR HUMANS GOING TO THE MOON RIGHT NOW! Lets be excited about that instead!

I used to work at SpaceX from 2011 to late 2025. During my tenure there I had my epic team create a script to push launch updates to a fleet of @vestaboard that we had around the company. I had one at home too, so I could see the latest updates (and know if I needed to wake early.) When I left SpaceX I lost access to this data on my home board. It made me super sad. So I had a friend help create a new board, not just limited to SpaceX but all launches around the world! This is still a work in progress, but you can use it now if you want to see the latest launches! Hit up vestaboard.projecttomorrow.c… add your board, select the format you want and BAM! Earth departures auto updated on your board! Hope you like it, and let me know if there are any features you would like to see! Still some work to do with unknown payloads, pads, etc. but getting there.

Honored to receive the Astro Award presented by Everyday Astronaut. Today, it’s hard to picture space culture without @Erdayastronaut, @NASASpaceflight, and @DJSnM. I’m old enough to remember the days of Spacevidcast / TMRO, Bad Astronomy and Universe Today, when space on the Internet felt smaller and fragmented. Then Everyday Astronaut arrived and changed everything. He doesn’t just cover launches. He has helped educate an entire generation about space and how spaceflight works, keeping imagination alive while anchoring it in reality. Without his work, our sense of possibility would be far narrower, and we likely would never have come together as a community in the first place. I really hope one day someone will give dearMoon a second life, and perhaps one day Tim himself will become a real astronaut and receive his Astro Award. Either way, future missions will fly a little higher because of what he has built.

I'll be at this years @AstroAwardsLive in Austin, TX on Jan 17/18 if anyone wants to meet up! I believe there are still tickets available for anyone who wants to attend (should be epic for any fellow space nerds) eventbrite.com/e/astro-award…

Haven Demo achieved mission success after deploying from SpaceX’s Bandwagon-4 flight on Nov 2, 2025. Following nominal separation and stable sun-pointing, the spacecraft captured 4K video of its solar array deployment and is power-positive. 🇺🇸

I'm hiring an IT Administrator for the @SpaceX VADER team. This is less video / audio and more Kubernetes deploys, server administration, SSL deployments (including Java Keytool,) Python scripting, system uptime / downtime reporting, etc. If you or someone you know fits that and is interested, please apply here: job-boards.greenhouse.io/spa…

A bit of clarification--though I don’t think my circumstances are particularly interesting or consequential. That said, and regardless of the points below, the President is entitled to assemble the leadership team he believes will best serve his administration. I have been relatively apolitical--a right-leaning moderate--and my political donations across both parties (though 10x more to Republicans) were disclosed in writing, with rationale, before my nomination was ever submitted to the Senate. As for the perceived conflict--I only know Elon professionally, but having flown to space twice on SpaceX rockets, I have a firsthand appreciation for what he and his companies have accomplished. It is also worth pointing out that SpaceX remains the only way American astronauts have been able to travel to and from orbit since the Space Shuttle was retired in 2011. I hold no direct or indirect equity in SpaceX--or in any aerospace or defense company for that matter. Like all nominees, I signed an ethics letter and would have honored it. Personally, I don’t regret anything--it was an honor to even be considered by the President. I loved DC and my brief time in the arena. The real disappointment is the time lost by Senators and staff who invested six months into a confirmation process that was ultimately withdrawn. This leaves NASA without a confirmed leader for what may stretch on for over a year. That is not ideal for the world’s most accomplished space agency--or for America--especially as our geopolitical rivals move at impressive speeds to overtake our edge in the high ground of space. Hopefully, a new nominee will emerge soon as NASA needs leadership during this uncertain time. I have been lucky to live the American Dream and if you know anything about me--you know this was never about political ambition, personal gain or enriching others. I love my country and I care deeply about America’s competitiveness and leadership in space. 🇺🇸
