Did you know that in Arabic, there are 12 levels of friendship? For every level of friendship, there is an Arabic word to describe it. From Sadeeq to Khaleel, it is rare to find all 12 levels of friendship in one person. A thread on the 12 levels of friendship in Arabic…

Bush was a terrible president. Obama was a terrible president. Trump was a terrible president. Biden is a terrible president. Stop fighting over which neocon is better than the other. Presidents in the US serve two agendas: endless austerity and war.

For every hundred Africans who have had an idea about something, maybe only one goes out to try to execute the idea without making excuses or waiting for someone to “fund them.” They take what they have and try to build something with it. The problem is always desperation.

The Military Junta of Niger has Suspended all Exports of Gold and Uranium to the French Republic.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
There is currently no official source, either from the military junta in Niger or from the French authorities, confirming the cessation of uranium exports. A spokeswoman for the French mining company Orano said that "there are no changes to report, the situation is normal". lemonde.fr/international/…

Thinking back, I hate how much our teachers mystified Math. How it seemed like one had to be an Einstein to get Math. And if one didn’t, they didn’t deserve to sit in their class. When, in reality, they were TERRIBLE TEACHERS who stumbled into teaching because « how man go do »

My wife is an economist and I am an engineer. I was watching my wife make her breakfast one morning, and noticed that she made way too many trips to get each of the items she needed. So I said in my best engineer voice, “Hey sweetheart, why don’t you utilize the load maximization principle and carry all the items you need in one trip, thereby minimizing total distance travelled?” Well don’t you know, she loved my suggestion! It used to take her 11 minutes to make her breakfast… now I do it in 5.

A VC asked me today what the #1 indicator is that I see that a company is starting to fail? CEO updates become light weight, or they start missing the monthly updates. When CEO stops talking to investors, the end is usually near.

Biggest takeaway from tonight’s Desantis / Musk LIVE 1.Twitter needs to immediately move HQ out of California. There’s a resident in California named Gavin who’s not a fan of what he, Desantis and twitter stands for. Not sure if something happened but ONLY THE PARANOID SURVIVE. 2.Good job to Biden/Kamala campaign to capitalize off this crisis to post a link to donate saying “This link works” 3.Whether this becomes a successful launch or not for RD, this is the future. Kudos to Musk & Sacks for selling the idea. If they even did. If it was RD’s idea, respect to him and his team for taking the risk. 4.@DavidSacks is a great, calm, poised host during a call like this when technology breaks. 5. Mainstream media will have the initial laugh at this blunder but long term they may as well start buying their plot at a local cemetery. They’re dead. 6.Desantis was reading a script and it was a bit boring of a start. Sell me the dream or a nightmare but I need both to be sold. America wants to buy a dream. America moves when a real nightmare is sold. Nightmare was sold. I’m not sure if a dream was sold. This is an area of improvement. 7. Trump needs to schedule a twitter space next. But before he does. Twitter needs to have an emergency meeting to make sure they’re ready. This is an area of expertise for both Musk/Sacks but it could be 5x bigger than this one if done properly. 8. Elon Musk was just as big of a star as Desantis was on the twitter spaces. This isn’t necessarily a good or a bad thing. It’s important to leverage his audience to present the dream you’re selling to the American people. 9. He told one joke about the Congressman’s license plate about Kentucky. It was actually a decent joke and a sign that he can be funny. More humor to break the ice is necessary. 10. There’s a difference with audio only format versus video. It’s easier to lose the audience. Story telling matter. When making a point on policies, do so by sharing examples and stories. I would make a list of 5-10 stories per point being made to go to. A greatest hits of stories. 11. At the end of it he showed his edge. When he entered the office he said I don’t know what SOB will sit in this chair after me but I’m gonna get it all done and leave no meat on the bone 🦴 A bit of his competitive side which is good. AMERICANS love a leader who’s competitive and not afraid of the pressure it comes with casting a vision. 12. Started SUPER SLOW but he finished VERY STRONG. Related to the audience with his story. 13.I applaud the @GovRonDeSantis for taking a risk to announce in this manner. I applaud @elonmusk for creating a climate at twitter where this is possible. Imagine the previous CEO of Twitter Parag Agrawal, agreeing to do this? Maybe or maybe not but I applaud Musk/Sacks for a great twitter spaces. Let’s Keep it going.

Breaking news! 80% of the remaining employees at twitter just got fired. On a serious note, this just proves that even a big thinker as Elon Musk wasn’t expecting the LIVE to be this big. Disruption is here at a level no one expected.

There is a shocking difference between A-player and C-player employees. C-players: • Work reactively • Blame circumstances • Default to "end of the week" A-players: • Work proactively • Take extreme ownership • Default to "end of the day" What traits would you add?
