You guys doubled down on racists like Bo French and corrupt philanderers like Ken Paxton and demanded everyone else fall in line because you decided reliable Republican votes in the Senate and elsewhere weren’t good enough and today even a chunk of the GOP has rejected you.

You wanted Cornyn gone. You wanted Ernst gone. You wanted Collins gone. You wanted Tillis gone. You wanted Graham gone. You got your wishes, right-populists.

Above everything else, this right here is why Republicans got wiped out tonight. The leader of the party lives in an epistemic bubble of megalomania, where facts, reason, and data mean nothing. All the bad policies followed from this.

"You gotta vote for the lesser of two evils" always seems to come up in general elections and not primaries.

1) The war in Iran was going great until you guys convinced the president to stop. 2) MAGA has nothing to stand on when it comes to affordability; you were pushing tariffs from the jump. 3) If voters wanted America First, why did they vote for Democrats over MAGA candidates?
The conservatives who said: 1) The war in Iran is catastrophically stupid 2) Affordability is a real problem 3) America First Were exactly right on every point.

It’s time for Republicans to do some soul searching. This happened in 2006. We regrouped and came back in 2010. Why? Because we returned to our roots of promising limited government, free markets - the things that voters wanted. Right now - GOP sounds too much like Democrats when it comes to the economy. So many of these are things that Bernie Sanders applauds.

Donald Trump is not going to just go quietly into the night. He will not just be a lame duck. Those who started this thinking Trump might be a vehicle for conservative policy may end the Trump era seeing Trump become a vehicle for Democratic policy priorities.

Look at the Texas races. Senate, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and on and on and on. This is stunning. MAGA's cruelty and arrogance is turning the state blue.

Sean is really, really, really hoping nobody notices how far Trump slid in public approval before the war amidst unpopular tariffs. Also, by "neocons" he means anyone who thought nominating Donald Trump in 2024 was a good idea. This is what Trump leadership looks like. Trump could have gone to Congress. He could have defined war aims. He did none of what some of us Iran hawks urged him from Day One to do. And yes, I wrote all that publicly from the very start. Unlike Sean, I don't have to delete my past writings to cover my tracks.
Marc Thiessen is the Anthony Fauci of 2026. Trump was on a glide path to the most successful presidency in modern history, and Thiessen rolled in, fed him a bunch of lies, destroyed his approval ratings with neocon forever war nonsense, and left him with a smoking crater where Republicans used to be standing.

The legacy of Trump and his influence includes Republicans losing in states that were once reliably Republican: Arizona, Georgia, Texas, South Carolina.

Republicans. For the sake of your party do all you can to limit Trump's influnce in your party. Look to North Carolina. Look to South Carolina. He is a toxicity that will continue to ruin your party.

It was gas prices. It was the war. It was also the corruption. The incompetence. The tariffs. The playing nice with Russia. The impression of cruelty. The overly aggressive deportations. The accidental arrests of American citizens who were Hispanic. The arrogance. The ballroom. The reflecting poll. The golf courses. The arch. The Qatari 747. The aggressive redistricting push. The threats against enemies.

Seems like a lifetime ago the Tea Party ushered in an overflowing crop of young, successfull conservatives. Then came Trump.

a WH official tells me: “candidate quality matters, and President Trump did a better job promoting many of the candidates on the ballot than the candidates did themselves.” And “President Trump’s resolve to stop the Radical Left is only going to become stronger. Buckle up”

The NatCons running out to blame all of this on the Iran war want you to ignore the fact that Trump's freefall began on Liberation Day and their protectionist economic policies are deeply unpopular. (Tho there are lots of reasons for what's happening)

Okay, but why are folks who have absolutely nothing to do with railroads or Texas following Bo French's account?

Reagan left the Republican party far stronger than he found it. Trump is going to leave it far weaker.
