#TeamKETRACO hosted Toareia Geuhennec and Jamila Ioualalen-Colleu from the French Treasury at the National System Control Centre (NSCC) Project site in Nairobi.
The two were received by #teamKETRACO, Eng. George Ngugi, Project Manager, NSCC, and Eng. Dyna Kaaria, Resident Engineer, alongside the site contractorsβ teams from GE Vernova and Larsen & Toubro (L&T). The visit gave the duo an opportunity to appreciate the projectβs progress to date and to take stock of the lessons learned and opportunities.
Once completed, NSCC will strengthen real-time supervision and automated dispatch of the electricity grid, supporting more efficient power-flow management and reducing unscheduled outages and transmission losses.
The facility will also support the integration of renewable energy into the grid, strengthen coordination of regional interconnectors within the Eastern Africa Power Pool, and enhance Kenyaβs readiness for future electricity market operations.
The site visit provided an opportunity to share progress on this strategic infrastructure project and highlight its role in supporting a more resilient, responsive, and interconnected power system.
