Laser communications is a bedrock requirement for AI, space data centers and other exploration in deep space.
Same way you cannot run datacenters on ground on 5G!
Transcelestial @trans_celestial is a single stack platform enabling ISL, Space to Ground and Cloud-connected global network of Optical Ground Stations to connect Earth with Space
NEW: The U.S. Space Force is generating so much satellite data that its communications network risks becoming a battlefield bottleneck, according to a new Mitchell Institute report.
Military space sensors now produce up to 200× more data than two decades ago, but much of it still has to move through legacy radio-frequency links that were never designed for today’s volume.
The report argues the Space Force needs to accelerate laser communications, which can move data 10–40× faster using beams nearly 1,000× narrower — making them harder to detect, intercept and jam.
It also calls for more AI and edge processing onboard satellites so they can filter and prioritize the most important information before sending it to commanders.
The warning is straight forward: the U.S. is rapidly adding sensors in orbit, but unless it upgrades the network connecting them, the data may arrive too slowly to matter.

🫡The Unbroken Line: Why Lasercomms is the Last Line of Defence for Modern Networks
Let’s talk about how modern wars are actually won.
If you read defense headlines, you’d think the future is all about autonomous killer drone swarms, hypersonic strike missiles, and stealth destroyers.
🇺🇸 The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) just published a 24-page blueprint that offers a comprehensive look at what it takes.
It’s called the National Security Science and Technology Strategy (NSSTS).
📃Read Full Report here whitehouse.gov/wp-content/up…
And it is one of the most refreshing, clear-headed, and brutally honest strategy documents Washington has produced in the last few months related to technology strategy.
The core thesis is simple:
You don’t win modern conflicts with isolated, bespoke wonder-weapons. You win with resilient, mass-manufactured technological systems that create deterrence by denial.
~~~~~~~~~~
🏛️The report lays out four interlocking pillars:
- Pillar 1: Focusing Techno-Strategic Competition — Clear dominance across Undersea, Space (VLEO to cislunar), AI/autonomy, and C5ISR.
- Pillar 2: Building Technological Resilience — Deterrence by denial, homeshoring critical supply chains, and locking adversaries out of critical networks.
- Pillar 3: Accelerating Innovation Velocity — Slashing red tape via Executive Order 14265, milestone-based fixed-cost contracts, and commercial speed.
- Pillar 4: Protecting National Security S&T — Protecting research via NSPM-33 and Technology Prosperity Deals with NATO and allied partners.
Flip to Appendix A — the updated Critical and Emerging Technologies (CET) list. Communications and Networking is clearly pointed out and discussed.
🇺🇸The White House calls out the exact technical capabilities required:
“optical links and fiber technologies”
“resilient and path-diverse communications”
“delay-tolerant and infrastructure-independent networking"
“adaptive waveforms"
“space and stratospheric modalities"
The authors of this strategy understood a fundamental truth:
🤔 The smartest AI on Earth is completely useless if it cannot communicate.
~~~~~~~~~~
🧠The Anatomy of Modern Combat: The Nervous System Problem
Think of a modern military force like a biological organism.
- The sensors (satellites, radars, reconnaissance drones) are the eyes.
- The AI edge processors and commanders are the brain.
- The strike platforms (drones, ships, missiles) are the muscles.
What connects them all?
The nervous system. In military doctrine, that’s C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance).
Now here is the problem. For 100 years, that nervous system has run on Radio Frequency (RF) waves.
And in a contested high-intensity conflict, legacy RF hits three walls:
- Radios Scream Your Position: RF waves expand in all directions. When a forward unit or warship broadcasts a radio signal, adversary Direction Finding (DF) sensors detect the emission instantly. You talk, you get located, you get targeted.
- Jamming Is Saturated: Electronic Warfare (EW) isn’t theoretical anymore. In Ukraine and the Pacific, GPS signals and tactical radio frequencies are actively jammed and degraded around the clock.
- The Bandwidth Chokepoint: A single modern Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) drone generates gigabits of raw data every second. RF spectrum is physically crowded and regulated. You cannot push 10 Gbps tactical pipes through legacy radio frequencies without massive dishes.
The White House recognized this bottleneck. That’s why the NSSTS explicitly elevates optical links, infrastructure independence, and path diversity.
~~~~~~~~~~
💥How Lasers Change the Physics of the Battlefield
Laser communications (Free Space Optics / FSO) replaces radio waves with directed light.
Light moves at 300,000 km/s. But instead of expanding outward into a detectable bubble, photons travel in a razor-thin, coherent pencil beam.
Here is how that unlocks the four key domains highlighted in the strategy:
- Terrestrial Borders & Tactical Forward Bases: Trenching physical fiber across contested borders, mountains, or island chains takes years and is physically vulnerable to cable cuts. Microwave links scream electronic signatures to enemy sensors.
Zero-RF Gigabit Transport: Point-to-point wireless laser links deliver 10G to 40G throughput across 15+ kilometers in minutes with zero electronic signature (LPI/LPD). Completely invisible to enemy RF sniffing.
- Maritime & Naval Task Forces: Under Pillar 1, the strategy focuses on undersea and surface maritime dominance. During Emission Control (EMCON), warships must maintain strict radio silence so adversary satellites can't track them.
Silent Ship-to-Ship Cross-Links: Optical links allow destroyers, support vessels, and island outposts to exchange gigabits of uncompressed sensor data across open water without emitting a single detectable RF photon.
- Space Superiority & Stratospheric Meshes: The strategy directly aligns with Executive Order 14369 (Ensuring American Space Superiority) and prioritizes “space and stratospheric modalities” across very low-Earth orbit (VLEO) and cislunar space.
Unjammable Orbital Backbone: Optical Inter-Satellite Links (OISL) and high-rate Optical Ground Stations (OGS) turn LEO constellations and high-altitude drones (HAPS) into an unjammable global space mesh that completely bypasses vulnerable undersea fiber cables.
~~~~~~~~~~
🔥Transcelestial: Taking Lasercomms from Lab Experiment to Factory Scale
When we founded Transcelestial, we saw where the world was heading.
For decades, laser communications was treated like an exotic, fragile laboratory experiment. Something NASA built one-off for deep-space science probes.
We took a completely different path: industrialize it, automate it, and mass-manufacture it.
- CENTAURI & CENTAURI+: Telco-grade 10G to 40G wireless laser terminals deployed globally across Tier-1 carriers, mission-critical infrastructure, and enterprise networks. Engineered with sub-5ms active optomechanical tracking, FPGA-driven adaptive waveforms, Class 1M eye-safety, and quantum-safe L2/3 encryption.
- LEGOLAS (Tactical Long-Range Link): This is one of our most anticipated upcoming products. Engineered specifically for sovereign border security and forward defense. Spans 15km+ with a massive +47 dB link budget. Our LightTune active scintillation engine and dynamic LDPC forward error correction punch through heavy tropical monsoon rains without dropping the link. Ultra-compact (<4 kg), rugged, and fits inside a standard tactical pack.
- TMOGS & Space Flight Heritage: Our Transcelestial Mother of all Optical Ground Stations (operational in Singapore and Spain) and orbital space payloads (flight-validated on orbit aboard SpaceX Transporter-15 on our 6G Starlab mission) close the loop from low-Earth orbit directly to the tactical edge.
~~~~~~~~~~
📜The Action Plan: How Can Agencies Execute the NSSTS Vision
The White House NSSTS is the right doctrine. Pillar 3 explicitly directs the Department of War (DoW) and allied agencies to accelerate acquisition reform under Executive Order 14265.
Now comes execution. To translate this blueprint into fielded operational capability, defense leaders across the U.S., NATO and US-allies must take three decisive actions:
- Shift to a High-Rate Commercial Manufacturing Mentality: The era of artisanal defense contracting is over. Building 10 custom terminals a year at $1,000,000+ each will lose the next conflict. As the NSSTS notes, we must counter adversary mass with industrialized scale. Transcelestial manufactures optical terminals on automated commercial lines producing thousands of units annually, delivering telco-grade volume pricing ($30k–$45k per terminal). Manufacturing scale is deterrence.
- Enforce Open, Multi-Vendor Architectures: Proprietary single-prime walled gardens are a national security hazard. The NSSTS specifically directs agencies to use “milestone-based fixed-cost contracting mechanisms, with multiple competing participants and performance-based down-select.” Defense buyers must mandate open, interoperable optical waveforms across space, air, and ground systems so allied militaries are never locked into a single vendor.
- Leverage Allied Technology Prosperity Deals: Under Pillar 4 and Executive Order 14383 (America First Arms Transfer Strategy), allied defense ecosystems must rapidly integrate dual-use, field-proven commercial hardware. If a system is already pushing 10 Gbps across commercial telco towers in tropical typhoons, deploy it to forward tactical bases today.
~~~~~~~~~~
🎯 The Bottom Line
The White House’s August 2026 NSSTS got the fundamentals right.
AI autonomy without unjammable communications is useless.
Sensors without gigabit pipes are blind.
Troops with radiating RF radios are targets.
The strategy is published. The physics of optical/laser communications is proven. The manufacturing scale is ready. Now let’s deploy it.

2025: The Year of Inflection in Scale, Space, Defence and New Products! 🥳
In 2025, connectivity took a decisive step beyond the Earth’s surface. @trans_celestial's laser systems are finally helping bridge the gap between local and global/regional network routing. 🌏
This shift was never about space ambition for its own sake. It was about relieving pressure where it matters most: Preparing for the global growth of AI services being streamed, constrained infrastructure due to underinvestment in fiber and lasercomms by many telcos, and networks stretched to their limits, as a result. By using space-based optical links, Transcelestial adds a new way to improve internet speed, strength, and lower costs. When combined with our city-based solutions to deliver this through 5G or broadband channels, it brings a level of service and reliability that hasn’t been seen before, especially for the value it delivers.
💪Here’s a look back at the milestones, partnerships, and breakthroughs that defined Transcelestial in a year of relentless execution.

Last Mile to the Last Frontier - Becoming a Space-Faring Company 🚀
Transcelestial has officially gone vertical. We aren’t just looking at the stars; we are talking to them.
- Orbit Achieved 🎯: We are now a space-faring company. The launch of our 6G Starlab mission aboard SpaceX Transporter-15 in November marked a historic milestone. We are actively demonstrating high-speed laser downlinks from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to our proprietary Optical Ground Stations. xitter.cf/jharohit/status/199626…
- Inter-Satellite Mesh 🛰️: We deepened our collaboration with ST Engineering, advancing the development of laser terminals capable of connecting satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), effectively creating a fiber-optic network in the sky. This will be testing concepts of Space Data Centers, Routing Data using high speed lasers and other key goals. The launch is aimed for H2 2026. transcelestial.com/blog/sing…
- Global Ground Station Network 🔭: In record time of less than 2 months, we commissioned proprietary Optical Ground Stations (TMOGS) in Singapore and Spain (both on schedule to be operational in Q1 26). These stations utilize advanced closed-loop tracking algorithms to lock onto LEO satellites moving at 7km/s, solving the “last mile problem” for space-to-ground data downlink. This is made possible through Transcelestial’s extensive operational and engineering expertise.
- GPS-Denied Navigation 📴: In the defense sector, we successfully tested a new unique capability for Non-Jammable GPS service – laser-based navigation. This technology uses our laser terminals not just for communication, but for precise optical positioning, allowing Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) to navigate in GPS-jammed environments with higher resolution and accuracy than traditional precision GPS. linkedin.com/pulse/from-deep…

3x+ (200% Growth) in Our Terrestrial Telecom and Enterprise Order Book $$$
2025 was the year our technology became the choice for telecommunications giants across the globe, expanding into new verticals and geographies. Today we are the default choice of Wireless Fiber Optics for 10+ Telcos globally across Asia and USA.
- North American Expansion 🇺🇸: We signed a landmark multi-year Master Agreement (MA) with one of the largest Telcos in the USA, validating lasers as a choice of technology to bring reliability to 5G networks nationwide. Supporting this is our strong partnership with Wesco, now expanded with a multi-million dollar commitment to supply the Americas with industry-leading CENTAURI laser communications terminals. While focus in on the US, we have seen tremendous client interest in 5G backhaul and Mining connectivity in CALA (Central America, South America and Carribean) with initial pilots underway.
- Connecting Asia 🐉: Our partnership with @enjoyGLOBE (Philippines) continued to grow and led to a massive commitment for multi-year supply for CENTAURI laser comms. Read More Here on Philippines. Supporting this is our strong Philippines partner Asticom who signed a large milti-million dollar commitment to ensure timely production flow. Across the seas in India, we finished early production tests with BSNL and another one of the largest telcos in the world. They both aim to rapidly upgrade their national 5G & Wireless Broadband network, providing flawless performance in dense urban radio environments. globe.com.ph/about-us/newsro…
transcelestial.com/blog/why-…
- Campus & Enterprise Growth Globally 🏫: Our demand in the Campus and Enterprise connectivity sector exploded beyond Telcos into education, ports, biomedical, and disaster recovery. E.g. Engineering the Base CENTAURI Platform to be Faster, Safer, More Resilient Than Ever ⚙️
The physics of shooting laser beams through turbulent air and changing weather, across kilometers, while maintaining multi-gigabit speeds and low bit error rate aren’t easy. In 2025, we saw some of the largest enhancements so far to CENTAURIm the CENTAURI+ which includes major upgrades including fully programmable layer 2 & 3 capabilities, upgrades in internal AI algos, optomechanics, and component selection that helped improve the level of capability and quality of this technology to new levels that the industry has never seen.
- Introducing Centauri+ 📶: Our latest yet-to-be-publicly launched terminal features a new powerful FPGA-driven platform that opens up features such as Layer 2/3 SDN, Advanced Custom Forward Error Correction, low-latency VPN baked in, Quantum-Safe Encryption, and 10Gbps+ full-duplex capacity, delivering fiber-like speeds wirelessly. More details will be announced soon as we gradually open up from Beta with select customers to a Public Launch in Q1 2026.
- AI-Driven Safety 🦺: We deployed a world-first AI Vision Laser Safety System. This AI monitors the laser beam path near the deployed terminals in real-time, withsub-100ms response), ensuring absolute safety for the public in dense urban areas and rooftops. This is the industry’s first application of AI to make hyper eye-safe class 1m laser terminals, gaining approvals of this approach from major international government health and safety bodies.
- Proven Resiliency 💯: Our networks maintained 99.89% availability through monsoon seasons and diverse weather conditions, validated by over 5,000 operational hours in critical carrier networks. This gives the Transcelestial team the largest ongoing experience of running wireless lasercomms or FSO networks in PRODUCTION globally, today!
- The “Doublet” Optical Breakthrough 🫗: We engineered and mass-produced a proprietary single-block receiver lens system. This “Doublet” design drastically reduces reflective signal loss and increases the tolerance for transmit/receive alignment shifts, significantly extending the operational lifespan and reliability of every unit in the field. This adds years to the lifetime of the terminals in the field going ahead increasing ROI for our customers.
- Software-Defined Atmospheric Correction 🌦️: We released Centauri OS v5.28 as our biggest release of the year, featuring many upgrades to our groundbreaking advanced AI tracking algorithms that utilizes dynamic, adaptive response tuning of tracking parameters based on scintillation and visibility in real time across rain, haze, fog and snow. This version of the CENTAURI OS also allows the terminals to distinguish between physical vibrations (e.g., wind on a tower) and atmospheric scintillation (heat shimmer), adjusting the laser aim in microseconds to maintain lock during heavy rain or fog.
- AI-Human Hybrid Software team 🤖: Our incredible engineering team has been heavily driving the AI-assisted software engineering wave with Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 3 Pro as our key models driving code writing. In certain weeks, Norbot (Wallace and Gromit fans?), has written up to 50% of all code at record pace with picking up, branching, fixing, committing and then post a check from a senior developer, merged into master. This is clearly a new paradigm in shipping features at the rate of inference.
