I've been thinking about this cheating saga and I have some things to say. This may be a long thread. I think it is odd how we view evil people as harbingers of justice when their acts are directed at people who do bad things. I'll use prison rape as an example now.

"my specific horrible experience" And yet if you ask any student studying in a federal university what their experience is like, they will tell you similar stories. Nigerian public schools are shit. Dirty hostels. No classrooms. No protection for students' rights. But sure.Go off
“Let me debunk well established fact by auditors who study universities with my specific horrible experience” Your anecdotal localized experience is not an experience of the whole This is why statistics exist, to bridge the gap between irregularities Also most of the increase in prices have been inflationary. None have beem based on the demand for better quality education. They were simply the effect of subsidy removal and the cbn printing. That cost was always going to trickle down whether Tinubu or any or other person was president.

NELFUND has disbursed over ₦370 billion to students. That is the headline. What they don’t emphasise is that this is debt, not free education. Students are borrowing money for school fees and upkeep in a country where the same government cannot fix public universities, pay lecturers on time, or guarantee jobs after graduation. When the loans start coming due and the jobs are not there, the same students who are celebrating today will be the ones struggling to repay. The government found money for loans. It still has not found the will to properly fund education so that most students would not need loans in the first place.

Very irritating takes on this Nelfund issue. All of them behaving like the quality of education changed when school fees went from 16k-300k. If anything, the generation that enjoyed free tertiary education enjoyed the best education in the history of this country

I have yet to see an intelligent APC supporter. Why is it that this funding problem has not been resolved even after the hike in school fees? Why is the country only poor whenever we ask for quality education, but not poor when it is time to waste money on things like Prado?
Only 3 cadavers were available to dissect during anatomy class…you don’t see that it’s a funding problem You still want school fees to be cheap and complain about inadequate facilities I doubt if your brain functions optimally

Is the world class infrastructure and quality education in the room with us? Why is the country is always poor when we want good education and proper pay for healthcare workers, but never poor when it is time to pay politicians outrageous salaries or buy Prado and private jets?
It’s only in Nigeria that we want low university fees, huge salaries for lecturers, world class infrastructure, and quality education. Where is the money to fund all these supposed to come from?

Not poor when it is time to steal. Not poor when it is time to launder money through stupid schemes like this recent ebola rubbish. When we want quality education though, the country becomes poor. When workers ask to be paid properly for their work, the country is poor.
11
The country is not poor when it is time to find a mass wedding of minors with billions. Not poor when it is time to install solar panels in Aso rock worth billions while the rest of the country suffers in darkness. Not poor when it is time to buy people's votes.

NELFUND beneficiary here. We saw an increase in cost and decrease in quality of education in Tinubu's administration. The average person cannot afford to go to schools built and maintained with tax payer money without being in serious debt. After graduation, there are no jobs-
I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this oh😭 Deep down every uni student wants to actually vote for TINUBU in 2027 I’m a beneficiary of Nelfund Student Loan & I must say, he actually cooked with that initiative

For those of you saying that the quality of education has not reduced: xitter.cf/treasurenduke/status/2…
I've seen some replies try to deny the fact that the education sector in this country is falling apart. They are bringing up THE world university rankings to prove that the quality of education in Nigeria has not reduced. I'll be debunking these lies here with real life examples

Now, to those of you supporting the hike in fees of schools built with taxpayer money, saying that we cannot be paying 50k for quality education, please look at all I have mentioned here and point out where the quality education you speak of is.

waits for students to die first before putting important safety measures in place, etcetc. I could go on and on but it would make this already long thread even longer. Studying medicine takes 6 years on paper. In most schools, however, it takes 8-10 years. This is not normal.

too because robberies happen every now and then. In summary we have an educational system that does not provide a conducive environment for students to learn, does not encourage the efforts made by students to pass, gives lecturers the power to victimize students for no reason,-

The hostels in federal schools are substandard and certainly do not reflect the hike in school fees. I would not keep a pig in some of these hostels that people's children are sleeping in. But hostel fees continue to increase. Students in these hostels cannot be sure of security-

for not paying money to pass. A lecturer made a girl fail her MB repeatedly and made her repeat a whole year because she rejected his advances. She is one of many victims with similar stories.

You can imagine what it was like trying to attend these classes. Practical sessions were even worse. The heat in these labs could kill you if you are not careful.Up until recently, writing GST exams was war. People would faint and get rushed to the clinic because of struggling-
