I have cystic fibrosis and also asthma. I’ve been wearing masks like this one every day in crowded spaces (like public transit, classrooms, and planes) for the last 7 years. Surprisingly 🤔 it does not impact my oxygen levels! Wear a mask.

When I was negotiating a counter offer with my almost former employer, I was asked why I was leaving because Wayne is a "lesser institution." I knew at that point I HAD to go, because y'all have missed the point of higher ed. A @WayneState appreciation thread...

B) My mother completed her PhD at 53 @waynestate, while I was in high school. Think about that...my mother worked full time, was a single parent, and earned a PhD from a internationally recognize program. Can your bougie-ass school support a student like that?

Really tired of the NYPD. They buzzed the crowd with helicopters all day today and then, as our rally was starting, pepper sprayed and harassed the back of the march. Crowd successfully intervened (video soon), but GEEZ, their harassment of Black trans & queer folk is endless.

People with underlying conditions such as diabetes & high blood pressure who died *with* Covid also died *of* Covid because they wouldn’t have died at that point in time without Covid. It’s a fundamental basis of epidemiological assessment of causality called the counterfactual.

Popular Anthropology Magazine would like to make a formal statement concerning American Anthropologist’s (@AmAnthroJournal on Twitter) complete lapse of editorial ethics in their decision to use a grotesque image from our discipline’s more blatantly racist, colonialist past 1/7

Don't take three years out for Uni. You owe a boss your labour every damn year of your adult life till you're 68. Don't dare short-change them. Read when you're not required for labouring.
Don’t go to university. Find an honest way of earning a living. Read widely. Collect books.

“But what will it look like on darker skin?”- A question I’ve often asked myself during my time at medical school This constant cerebration led me to curate a handbook that presents clinical features on darker skin. I hope this resource shifts the culture of medical education.

A #thread expanding upon the relevance of critical quant research methods to study race and racism in #LatinAmerican. Think about the counting and quantification of the concept of race & the racialization of people in #Brazil, #Columbia, and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean.
