It’s the context it was used alongside using words like STOP IT in caps !! it’s dismissive and condescending!!!
P.s: I’m sure you won’t normally call your female colleagues dear or even if you do , anyone has the right to say don’t call me that ..
It’s also public knowledge the common denominator of disciplinary cases brought against a lot of male doctors ..
So this is not about using it emails …It’s the CONTEXT..

The fragile ego of Nigerian man, not even education can cure it.
You're losing your mind b/c a colleague disagreed with you, but you're all over twitter describing her as "terrible" and "dangerous" in several comments for your boys to pile on her. Cry🤣
Disappointment is an understatement.
This kind of person can deny you if you are in trouble.
Me, I really hold colleagues in high esteem and always see them as brothers and sisters.
Not any more,... lmao... I've learnt o...
People are ready to throw you under the bus when they are losing an argument.
Again, she is a very dangerous person.
Do you know how many people have sent messages and comments about her actions?... everyone is saying the same thing... registering their Disappointment. She has exposed herself.

Side note: It’s advisable to avoid terms of endearment unless you’re close to someone.
I’ve led several resuscitations involving women in cardiac arrest during pregnancy, labour or the postpartum period, on the labour ward or in theatre. I’ve seen the good, the bad and the ugly.
Medicine doesn’t always offer categorical yes-or-no answers.
So YES, pregnancy can be life-threatening and sometimes fatal. It can feel like a death sentence to someone going through a terrifying experience, while others may have uncomplicated pregnancies. Both realities deserve acknowledgement.
Hopefully, we’ll reach a point where every woman can describe her experience without fear of being dismissed, and fellow women can empathise whether or not they’ve experienced something similar.

…The ongoing debate about pregnancy and whether it is or isn’t a “death sentence” has exposed wider systemic problems in society.
More worrying is the disregard some healthcare professionals have shown for empathy, patient autonomy and the ethical principles that should guide patient care.
I hope every patient knows their rights, understands that their voice matters and feels able to speak up when their experiences are dismissed or invalidated.
If you can’t acknowledge that people can have different experiences and outcomes, it says a lot about your willingness to consider perspectives beyond your own. Your experience does not invalidate someone else’s, and acknowledging theirs does not diminish yours.
And if you’ve been blocked, it most likely means your comments have dismissed someone’s experience or shown disregard for the principles I’ve highlighted. I won’t engage with comments that belittle patients or invalidate what they’ve been through.

Dr Ose, Good evening from here. There is Nothing I want to say that has not yet been said in the comment section. You can only wake up someone sleeping, not someone pretending to Sleep.
I know one thing is the same across board in Medical ethics…you are not permitted to dismiss a patient’s feeling, especially based on semantics.
If a patient tells you this Pregnancy feels like a Roller coaster. I know you will not show them a picture of roller coaster and show them a picture of pregnancy arguing it’s not the same, nor if someone tells you, “Money nah water”, you won’t be arguing “Money is Not Water”, you drink water, you can never drink money.
If a Pregnant woman tells you Omo! that pregnancy felt like I will die, and your friend went ahead to say, “these women make it feel like pregnancy is a death sentence”, you’re too smart to be arguing, she’s right; “Pregnancy is not a Death Sentence”.
You can not create a blanket statement like “Pregnancy is a death Statement” or “Pregnancy is not a Death statement”, because to those that never made it out of pregnancy, that Pregnancy was their Death Statement.
SELAH! ✌🏾
In all these, let’s not forget to vote Out Tinubu and Vote for Peter Obi so that Nigeria’s health system can get better.
Dear Dr Mary,
you have not made a conclusion in your statement. As someone who has some level of obstetric exposure.
If you are asked by the AMERICAN or ROYAL BOARD...
"Dr Mary, is Pregnancy a death sentence?"
what will be your answer?...
I can see you don't support MumZee, but that's beside the point... I'm asking you as a MEDICAL DOCTOR.
You've made a broad statement here, cleverly without stating Pregnancy is a death sentence... but supporting the claim. You will go ahead to encourage more women to believe that notion.
Except you believe Pregnancy is a death sentence.
You made a statement
"That shii hit a nerve in me…for the pregnant women that was brought in dead due to eclampsia, for the one we lost on the operating table and we all shed hot tears, for the ones that had to deal with post partum complications for the rest of the their lives…for myself and my pregnancy journey; the one that stayed and the one that messed me up so bad and still left…"
Second Question: Does this talk about it being a death sentence or being high risk.
Third Question: Is Malaria a death sentence. I lost my own younger sister to Malaria. Should I say Malaria is a death sentence?
Answer these questions... no insults, just pure discussion.

Young women, please consider a career in medicine. We need more of you.
We need women who will listen when other women say something is wrong. Women who understand that behind every maternal mortality statistic is a family whose life has changed forever.
And above all, we need doctors who never lose their empathy.
Thanks to our allies. We see you.

CIVILITY IS NOT WEAKNESS. ENOUGH OF THE HARASSMENT OF MY SUPPORTERS. RELEASE RILWAN OLAWALE NOW.
The continued intimidation and harassment of my supporters across the country, the latest being the case of Rilwan Olawale, is disturbing and unacceptable.
President Bola Tinubu has remained a huge beneficiary of our democracy and should not brazenly be destroying it by encouraging and facilitating violence.
Our campaign is peaceful and issue-driven, focused on offering Nigerians a credible alternative built on competence, accountability, justice, and compassion.
We have chosen the path of peace, not violence; persuasion, not intimidation. However, nobody should mistake our civility for weakness, our restraint for fear, or our commitment to peace for an absence of resolve. We will not be intimidated into silence, nor will we abandon Nigerians who believe in a New Nigeria that is possible and will be OK.
I therefore demand transparency regarding Rilwan Olawale’s arrest, his release, respect for his rights, and an end to politically motivated harassment. No government or political party has the right to deny Nigerians the freedom to support a candidate of their choice.
We will remain peaceful but resolute. We will not resort to violence, but we will stand firmly and lawfully against every attempt to undermine our democratic rights.
A New Nigeria is POssible and will be OK. -PO

I’m ashamed to tell the story of how he demoted my uncle from Principal to Primary 3 school teacher for eating students’ WAEC money. He came to the family compound to ask him if he’s mad.😩🤭.

I schooled in Onitsha High School, Onitsha. One morning, the principal Mrs Julie Ofoefuna informed us that Mr Peter Obi was coming to our school because the Senior Prefect called him and reported that the school building was at the verge of collapse which was true. We thought it was a joke because my school was one of the local schools then, we said” the governor has not finished visiting CKC, DMGS, St Charles, QRC”etc these are best schools then.
By 12:00pm that day, he landed with Dr Kay Onyechi the state commissioner of basic education, he inspected the school. He said he will return after two weeks. Two weeks passed we didn’t see him, we took his words as normal Nigeria politicians 😭😭😂.On the third week which was school closing period, he landed. He came like a thief, no motorcades or sirens blowing ” he apologized for coming after two weeks, he said when he learnt that the school was in exam period, he decided to wait but to come after exam. In the end, he gave more than enough for the school renovation. He asked us what we wanted for lunch, nobody could mention any reasonable food. He gave each student ₦100 for snacks.
