Finally, it is UN-official! Next year will be the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. 100 years after the formulation of quantum mechanics in 1925 it has a huge impact on all of us. There will be many nice events (for DPG events see quantum2025.de)
Just in: The @UN has proclaimed 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. This year-long, worldwide initiative will celebrate #QuantumScience progress and its importance to #SustainableDevelopment worldwide. Learn more: quantum2025.org/ #IYQ2025

I had a great time at the 18th Capri Spring School! It was great to present my research on a multi-qubit coupler and discuss with other students and experts. I want to especially highlight the great lectures of Michel Devoret, @PedramRoushan and @AndreasAtETH !

When I was learning quantum computing, there was basically nowhere on the internet to get good answers to questions. Coding places didn't understand quantum. Physics places didn't understand computing. The qc stack exchange being created quantumcomputing.stackexchan… was such a relief.

Experimentalist: Cool stories! Things breaking! Explosions! Theorist: Missing minus signs! Missing factors of 2! (I'm a theorist...)

Dear online journals, When we click an in-text reference and instead of opening a crossref it just scrolls down to the references section causing us to lose our place in the text, a small part of our soul dies. Respectfully, Everyone

So, with this morning's @NobelPrize awarded in part to Giorgio Parisi for his work on complex and disordered systems, now might be a good time for a Twitter thread to explain just what exactly a spin glass is, since I've spent a lot of my career working on quantum glasses. 🤔
