An entire hymn celebrates Viṣṇu’s cosmic strides & his supreme station. Viṣṇu is not a deity who first appears in the Purāṇas. 2. Rudra : Ṛgveda 1.114. Hymn invokes Rudra, braided-haired deity, for protection, health + well-being. Later Śaiva traditions develop within a much larger history; they cannot be understood by pretending Rudra simply did not exist in Vedic world. 3. Goddess : Ṛgveda 10.125, Vāk Sūkta. The divine voice speaks in the first person, declaring her association with the Rudras, Vasus, Ādityas, Viśve Devas, Mitra, Varuṇa, Indra & Agni. An important evidence for Vedic conceptions of divine feminine power, even though it is not identical to later Śākta theology. 4. Metaphysical inquiry : Ṛgveda 10.129, Nāsadīya Sūkta. Hymn questions origin of existence & even whether anyone ultimately knows how creation arose. Vedic corpus is not merely a catalogue of gods & fire rituals; it also contains profound cosmological speculation. Classical Hinduism was not already identical to contemporary Hinduism in 1500 BCE. Its institutions, sectarian identities, philosophies & devotional traditions developed over centuries.. Vedic Saṃhitās, Brāhmaṇas, Āraṇyakas, Upaniṣads, Itihāsas, Purāṇas & Āgamas represent diverse textual & religious traditions with complex relationships, continuities and disagreements. You can acknowledge historical change without erasing continuity. You can study that continuity without pretending every later Hindu doctrine was already fully formed in the Ṛgveda. Read the primary sources before announcing the death & rebirth of an entire civilisation.
