I am severely disappointed with the response from @LGBTLabour in relation to @wesstreeting 's frankly harmful policy announcement.
It is clear that the country does not agree with Wes, or his "medical advisor" JK Rowling.

I've joined many of my colleagues in support of my trans and non-binary friends. Trans healthcare is a medical not political issue, and political interference is abhorrent. LGBT+ suicide skyrocketed under Section 28, and this is the first step back to that. This will kill kids.

I’ve met young people who’ve been prescribed puberty blockers. Some told me they’d helped lift them from depression & probably saved their life.
A blanket ban is wrong & not what Cass recommended. Careful, clinical provision is the way forward, not this politicisation.

Being forced to go through male puberty has left me with both mental and physical scars that will never heal. My party's move to keep the ban on puberty blockers for under 18s is incredibly disappointing and I hope the Secretary of State for Health & Social Care reconsiders.

Labour's manifesto promised to "remove indignities for trans people who deserve recognition & acceptance".
That entails ending the Tories' ban on puberty blockers.

The case on the blocker ban has been heard. The judge appears to have understood the seriousness of the case & we trust that she will be careful in coming to her judgement. We now await a ruling which, we hope, will be handed down before the end of July.

Mrs Justice Lang, appears to have understood the seriousness of the case and we trust that she will be careful in coming to her judgement. As a community we now await a ruling which, we hope, will be handed down before the end of July.
