For those keeping track, this is the sixth foreigner living in Middle Tennessee who is working for Schneider Electric in a role that should have gone to an American.
Meet Rashmi Nandagudi Badrinath, a Franklin resident who works as a solutions architect for the Artificial Intelligence Division of Schneider Electric’s North American arm in Tennessee. She designs scalable machine learning frameworks for the company’s energy management and industrial automation platforms, while also spearheading the testing, validation, and cross-functional deployment of complex AI models. Her journey from India to Middle Tennessee began in Bengaluru, where she earned a master’s degree in computer science from Visvesvaraya Technological University. She soon joined the Indian division of Dell EMC, located in Karnataka. Following her tenure at Dell EMC, which ended in 2022, Badrinath spent the next three years navigating the U.S. immigration process. This transition culminated in March 2025 when she relocated to Tennessee to join Schneider Electric’s expanding AI hub, initially working as a quality assurance engineer before advancing into her current architecture role. Badrinath most likely entered the U.S. on an H-1B specialty occupation visa sponsored by Schneider Electric. Data from the National Center for Education Statistics, however, reveals her skills are far from rare. Out of the 51,000 students who graduate with a master’s degree in computer science in the U.S. annually, more than 20,000 are American citizens. While the specific details of her compensation package remain private, industry benchmarks place her annual salary in the $200,000 range. By comparison, the average salary paid to an American citizen in a similar architectural role sits lower, at roughly $175,000 per year. Why should Americans care about Schneider Electric’s hiring practices? The answer lies in the massive amount of public funding the company receives. Over the last decade, the energy giant has directly secured more than $7.65 million in Tennessee taxpayer funds. The corporation also continuously benefits from lucrative, state-level statutory incentives, including heavily reduced utility rates. Furthermore, the company capitalizes on indirect taxpayer windfalls through high-profile partnerships. In March 2025, Schneider Electric finalized a five-year contract with the Tennessee Titans to serve as the official energy management partner for the new Nissan Stadium, scheduled to open in 2027. The $2.1 billion stadium project is backed by one of the largest public sports subsidies in U.S. history, with more than $1.25 billion funded directly by Tennessee taxpayers. Aside from the fact that Schneider Electric benefits from public funds while relying heavily on international workforce pipelines, a deeper national security issue emerges. Badrinath operates within a division integrated entirely into American critical infrastructure. Her work directly feeds the data centers and power grids managed under the oversight of Indian-born Vandana Singh, the senior vice president of the Secure Power Division. Singh, who initially entered the U.S. on an F-1 student visa to attend Wake Forest University, spent more than two decades as an executive at Dell before transitioning to Schneider Electric. This leaves Tennessee taxpayers in the unsettling position of subsidizing a multibillion-dollar foreign corporation that bypasses a robust domestic talent pool in favor of international workers, all while handing the digital keys of America's energy infrastructure to non-citizens. As long as public funds continue to flow into corporate hands without strict domestic hiring mandates, American engineers will remain underrepresented in the very industries their own tax dollars are funding. If corporate giants are going to rely on American tax dollars to build national infrastructure, it is time they rely on American minds to secure it.

I did a bit more digging. She finished a bachelor’s in India by 18 (so much for equivalent degrees). Arrived in America on an arranged marriage speaking almost no English. Her husband had to translate for her at Purdue. Then she walked away with a master’s degree in 18 months. USCIS later named her an “Outstanding American by Choice.” Today she is the highest-paid public university employee in Texas at nearly $1.9 million, sits on an Indian government committee selecting their “Institutions of Eminence” and has publicly stated she is proud to implement PM Modi’s higher-education agenda. Meanwhile, the University of Houston under her leadership files H-1Bs claiming no qualified Americans exist for $95k Application Developer roles. Some “Outstanding Americans by Choice” appear to have more than one choice.
As shocking as it may be, this is real. The President of @UHouston posts she’s proud to help implement PM Modi’s goals. Maybe that’s why we are seeing them continually file for H-1Bs for jobs many of their graduates would love to have. @USLaborIG

Five years ago today I buried my 12-year-old daughter Semina. After reporting to police she had been groomed, raped, beaten and bullied Semina took her own life after being told it was her word against his. 18 months later an IOPC report showed that the detective in charge of the case had an admission of guilt but failed to arrest him. Semina nor myself were told at the time he had admitted to the rape, if she had been told she would still be here instead she was failed by all authorities payed to protect her and died thinking she wasnt believed. 💔

In Gateshead a young girl is blindfolded and dragged into an address by a grooming gang, she tries to escape but they drag her back. Northumbria Police turn up 2 hours later, they don't put the men in cuffs and just allow one of them to come back up to her outside the address. Northumbria Police were even offered this video as evidence but never came back to collect it. They commonly neglect evidence and then claim there isn't enough evidence to make any arrests.

It has been 2,314 days since I started investing in NIO. I will not sell any of my shares to Wall Street. I currently hold 50,000 shares with an average cost of $5.50. As a long-term investor who believes in the company, I have every right to ask the tough questions. Holding management accountable is part of being a committed shareholder.
