Economic hardship affects every household, irrespective of your job title. Abu the MD of Sterling understood this so well. I think it was around 2023 when Sterling Bank implemented a Cost of Living Adjustment for every staff member. Everyone received the same amount, irrespective of their grade level. Even the drivers. In most institutions COLA payments are determined by grade level. But Abu said no, he knows everyone is suffering the same fate. God bless Abu for being a Sterling human and for making Sterling Bank a great place to work.

The Federal Government has begun evacuating abandoned electricity equipment from Lagos ports. This includes transformers, high-tension cables and other critical power equipment stored there for 20 years. Over 300 containers were left behind. Customs has now started releasing 98 of them, with the first 44 cleared for deployment to power projects in Kaduna, Osun, Nasarawa and Cross River.

I will rather believe @akandeoj than believe @ChibuikeAmaechi that use his mother demise to campaign.. Laolu and @ProfOsinbajo has nothing to gain now but Amaechi dey campaign ni..
Replying to @Mr_JAGs
Oro omugo. Let contextualize his position. In one of the interviews granted in a podcast by Laolu Akande, he stated that on multiple occasions and publicly too, the former president supported the then vice president as his chosen candidate. He even went as far as saying that the former president made his support known publicly in one of the exco/cabinet meetings. Perhaps, if this was true, and Amaechi as one of the exco members who attended the meeting must have heard this pronouncement by the former president expressing his supports for his vice's presidential ambition. With the little known publicly about the former president's level of morality, I am not sure he would be so disingenuous to promise Prof. Osinbajo and Amaechi the same support for the same position. It's certainly incomprehensible. Either way, one of the two individuals, I.e., Laolu Akande or Rotimi Amaechi is economical with the truth. The only sad and unfortunate issue is that the former president is late, and no longer in a position to clarify this issue. Nevertheless, eyan meji o ki pofo iro, ti eyan ti won pa iro fun o ba mo, eni ti o npa iro mo ninu okan re.

As soon as they start asking questions about what you do. I was surprised and confused when one said I want to be a real estate agent. I had to lecture him on my several incomes. The side hustle, the main hustle, the certificate I had and it's advantages. I took them to office
What's the earliest reasonable time/age to start introducing one's children to one's business? Showing them how you run your business. Making them understand your business. Seeing how you make decisions. Learning. Business is not physical shop or trade, where they can sit down and watch activities daily. The business involves managing people spread across different locations, meetings that are mostly virtual (& few physical), physical projects you yourself only see once in a month or once in three months. If you choose an age below 16 or a class that's within secondary school education level, how do you balance this with revealing too much business information for children who may innocently say it elsewhere (eg in school) where it can have adverse effect? Views?

Everytime they request. They sometimes reply my messages while am driving (learning customer service work). They learn as they grow. I don't see any of them in 9-5 work in the future because they are already making money from doing business with dad.

Yesterday in Lagos, I met a man I had not seen in about 25 years. He was my sister's classmate. I don't remember ever speaking with him before yesterday, though I knew of him and his work. I saw him then (and now) as a pioneer in his space. He told me a personal story that kept me thinking well into the night. In 2015, he saw me on TV and was impressed. He went on Google to read my profile, and the fact that I attended King's College, Lagos caught his attention. His eldest daughter was already in Primary 6 by then, so it was too late to act on what he had just seen. But his son was in Primary 5, and a younger daughter came after him. So he got to work. He (personally) trained the boy, guided him and prepared him for the entrance exam. The boy got into King's College, Lagos. His younger sister got into Queen's College, Lagos. All his kids have since graduated from a respectable university. When I heard how intentional he had been about their education, I shook his hand again. I followed the KC boy on LinkedIn last night. The story was too powerful for me not to feel connected. The writer in me couldn't resist asking again, as though it hadn't been clear the first time: "Why did you send him to King's College?" His answer was the same. It was because he had seen me on TV. This was the first time I found out at least one person attended KC because I was once there. I will never forget that story, or how intentional he was at every step. He said that if he had known I would be at the event, he would have brought his son along. I hope to meet the young man someday. Not long ago, I wrote about King's College, Lagos and its future. Some people with no history of attachment to the school tried to lecture me about it. Stories like this one remind me what that school means to me. This is why I will never pay for any award. No award can come close to how I felt yesterday evening. This is why I am also unapologetic about who I am. I know myself too well. You can’t tell me nothing contrary to that knowledge. PS: He had greeted me from afar, hoping I’d recognise him, then I left my table to greet him. He then followed me to my table. I don’t think I’d have been blessed with that story had I not left my table to greet him.

If I am President @officialABAT I will be jealous of the first Lady. She has watched two finals and celebrate two BIG cups within this first tenure. I would have called @NGSuperEagles(and the rest male teams) and ask them when am I going to celebrate too
First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, watches and cheers on Nigeria’s Flamingos as they defeat Japan 2–1 in the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco, clinching their first-ever title in the competition. The historic victory makes Nigeria the first African nation to win the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, marking a proud moment for Nigerian and African women’s football. 🇳🇬🏆

Baze University, Abuja, has acquired two training aircraft from Austria for its aviation school in Bwari. The aircraft, named “Almajiri” (Student), will support the university’s aviation training programme, which operates under the inspiring motto, “Begin from the Sky.” The Pro-Chancellor of the university, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, disclosed this on Friday during a traditional water cannon salute ceremony held for the newly acquired aircraft at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja. Congratulations to the University!

Tunji Alausa has been quite extraordinary. He sits with Yemi Cardoso on my Pyramid of Competence for this administration. No wonder many saw him as a future Governor of Lagos. Exemplary capacity. Undeniable passion. An extremely serious human being. And he keeps to time. Nigeria's public service deserves more of his kind. PS: I also have a Valley of Incompetence list. It is not open to the public for now. Available to Mr President if he wants it in a memo as he reworks his cabinet for second term. (Won’t be my first memo of this kind) Lol. I hope I am not tempted to publish it after the elections. Releasing it now would not pass the 4-Way Test, given how it intersects with the election.

The future of transportation in Lagos is taking shape and we are making steady progress. Phase 2 of the Lagos Blue Line Rail Project will extend the existing line from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko, bringing six new stations and connecting more communities along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. Work is progressing on the tracks, bridges and stations, with the first three stations at Festac, Alakija and Trade Fair scheduled to open by the end of February 2027. Our vision is a Lagos where people spend less time travelling and more time living, working and building their future. We are turning that vision into reality, one project at a time.
