Best advice from @profgalloway on money making and talking openly about it.
I’m 30 years old and I’ve never received advice on attaining financial independence as an entrepreneur.
This episode of @ProfGPod has to be one of the best I’ve heard on the topic.
Here are my top 5 take aways:
• 💰Entrepreneurs should sell some of their shares in secondary. At 35, don’t have 90%+ of your net worth in a single asset i.e your company. Scott sold $5 million dollars of his shares in secondary when he raised his first outside capital at L2.
•📈 Don’t invest emotionally. If there’s hype around an investment it’s likely over invested and the actual returns won’t match expected returns. Scott’s least profitable investments have been chasing a hot deal.
• 📝Not all debt is bad. Borrowing in lower interest rate environments, if done right can be very rewarding. Scott borrowed money to invest in highly diversified stocks while interest rates were low.
• 💍 Picking the right life partner with whom you openly discuss finances with can make all the difference in your financial independence. Scott’s first girlfriend paid the rent while he built Profit.
• ⭐️ Use your unfair advantage. A niche or area of focus where you have more information or access than others. Scott’s unfair advantage was getting in on IPO deals by leveraging his public profile. He had to endure rejection but sometimes it worked.

I didn't believe in the death of Twitter back in 2015 and I don't believe in it now. Each channel has its purpose and it's accrued community. X is not for teens, nor is Facebook. Wait another generation, then they will fall by the wayside as the TikTok / IG generation come power.

The year's most dazzling "supermoon", the second full moon of the year, will grace the night sky on August 2. Astronomy experts recommend kickstarting your observations on the evening of August 1, just in time to catch the moon at its roundest in the early morning. As long as the weather is clear, people across China can look forward to basking in the glow of a large, radiant moon.

According to data from Similarweb, traffic to Twitter’s website has remained relatively stable in the two weeks since Threads’ launch where as Threads saw significant drop. This suggests that Twitter is not losing users to Threads, and that the two platforms are serving different audiences.
Threads’ remarkable user growth and emphasis on positive content have been its primary strengths. However, beneath the surface lies a challenge that threatens to hinder its sustained success — the leaky bucket problem.
Signing up for Threads requires an Instagram account, allowing Meta to leverage its previously built user base to supercharge growth but however, inadequate product-market fit and a lack of engaging content have led to a significant churn rate, causing users to leave the platform.
Twitter’s brand recognition: Twitter is a well-established brand with a large user base. This could make it difficult for Threads to compete with Twitter. Twitter’s integration with other platforms: Twitter is integrated with a number of other platforms, such as Facebook and Periscope. This could make it difficult for Threads to attract users who are already invested in these platforms.
Inadequate Product-Market Fit: While Threads has been successful in attracting users initially, many have found it that the platform doesn’t offer anything additional to twitter, in some cases it offer way less than the competitor. Product-market fit is essential for keeping users engaged and satisfied with their experience.
Content Scarcity: Social media platforms thrive on content, and a scarcity of compelling and diverse content can drive users away. Though Threads’ user base is larger , especially when compared to Twitter’s early days, but the users influx was from image based social platform aka Instagram, who are not used to text based platform, this means less content is being generated, reducing the platform’s appeal to potential users.
Twitter is a more public platform, while Threads is a more private platform. Twitter is also more focused on news and current events, while Threads is more focused on personal stories and connections. This means that users who are looking for a more public platform or who are interested in news and current events are more likely to stay on Twitter, while users who are looking for a more private platform or who are interested in personal stories and connections are more likely to switch to Threads.
User Experience and Accessibility: Threads is still a relatively new app and it lacks some of the features that are available on Twitter. This could make it less appealing to some users. A smooth and intuitive user experience is critical for retaining users. Any friction in accessing the platform or using its features can lead to frustration and ultimately contribute to the leaky bucket problem.

This is incredible.
AI can see what you are listening to.
Researchers at Google found a method called “Brain2Music” to reconstruct music from human brain activity.
Details:
-The approach involves using either music retrieval or a music generation model called MusicLM conditioned on embeddings derived from fMRI data.
-The generated music closely resembles the musical stimuli experienced, including semantic properties like genre, instrumentation, and mood.
-The study investigates the relationship between different components of MusicLM and brain activity through voxel-wise encoding modeling analysis.
We’re headed into a world where music is not just heard, but also seen through brain patterns.
The future is going to be amazing.
