Tonight, I challenged Reform councillors’ behaviour in the chamber while speaking against their motion to scrap Kirklees’ climate emergency declaration. Climate change is already affecting our communities. This summer we have seen wildfires, and as winter approaches, the risk of flooding remains a serious concern. Council homes and local services must be prepared for increasingly severe weather. Residents deserve a practical plan to protect homes, communities and public services. Instead, Reform is pushing national political arguments into local decision-making while refusing to engage constructively on the challenges facing Kirklees. #Reform #Kirklees #Council
