the nba rn is basically a hyper-optimized 3pt shooting contest w/ occasional iso hero-ball. analytics turned “what works” into a rigid meta where every team runs variations of the same strategy. efficiency killed style, as it always does. technology has mostly solved the nba “problem”.
& it’s not just the nba. baseball is now home runs or strikeouts because of things like launch angles.
sports are still good micro moments, but the macro has become kinda dry as hell.
