WrestleMania VII was supposed to draw 100,000 fans to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. On March 24, 1991, it happened next door instead, in the Sports Arena, in front of a reported 16,158. The official explanation was the Gulf War in Iraq, and the cost of securing an open-air stadium in wartime.
This documentary checks that story against the record: four different ticket counts, the storyline that made Sgt. Slaughter an Iraqi sympathizer and WWF Champion, the quiet way the move was announced, and how the security explanation grew over the next thirty years.
