Sometimes we need to ask ourselves,do we really want things to change or we're just complaining cos It hasn't favored us yet?

JUST IN: The Ansaru terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the assassination of Sheikh Masusuka which occurred yesterday in Katsina State. Prior to his death, the Sheikh was planning for peace dialogue meeting between ethnic groups and religious groups in the state.

Didn’t start in 2014/15. As far back as the 80s some Ebira students dropped out of their universities and moved to a particular Middle East country to “learn the deen”. There’s an extremism issue in Kogi central.

Extremism and intolerance among Muslims in Arewa have reached an all time high. I can’t believe my eyes seeing people celebrating Masussuka’s assassination on Facebook. When did we become a society where someone’s death becomes a reason to celebrate? I weep for Arewa.

It began with the gruesome murders of Sheikh Ja'afar Mahmud Adam in Kano and Sheikh Umar Hamza Dan-Maishiyya in Sokoto, both in 2007.
Seven years later, in 2014, Sheikh Muhammad Auwal Albani Zaria was also assassinated in Kaduna.
Today, in 2026, in a similar vein, unknown gunmen killed Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka in Katsina.
This is a very dangerous development in Northern Nigeria. Do not rejoice at these killings. Your favourite cleric is not safe either. None of us is truly safe.
May there be peace in our fatherland, Nigeria. Amin. May Allah (SWT) forgive the shortcomings of our departed loved ones, amin.
Good night,
Muhsin

I've always felt that Masussuka will ultimately be killed, especially how his whereabouts, a Local Government Area in Katsina is an open secret, Allah ya gafarta masa yasa ya huta.

The same people who claimed that the boy who asked for an AK-47 to kill Christians was not representing their sect are the very ones celebrating the brutal killing of this peace-loving Muslim cleric for a sectarian reason; all in the same day! We are in a deep mess.
I am just learning about the assassination of Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka, one of the most refreshing and intellectually stimulating Muslim clerics Nigeria has seen in recent years. His death has left a vacuum I do not see being filled anytime soon. He was extraordinarily different and courageous, an uncompromising advocate of religious tolerance and a society in which people of different beliefs could coexist peacefully. He was also unafraid to ask probing questions about faith and challenge imposed dogmas. I am, to say the least, devastated and frightened by what this says about this dangerous place we call our region. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest and comfort his loved ones.

We keep asking who is attacking Muslims.
Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka told the government that some members of a Muslim sect, Izala, were threatening him.
He preached peace with Christians and non Muslims.
On 26 October he was shot dead outside his house in Katsina, Nigeria. His friend died with him.
No arrest. No motive yet.
But he warned us.
Disagree with a scholar? Debate him. Answer him. You don't shoot him.
Sometimes the danger to a Muslim isn't outside.
Sometimes it's another Muslim.

The Izala (JIBWIS) elders are trying to claim that the boy with the terrorist chant (Umar Ibrahim Gandi) isn't one of them. They're trying to insinuate that he was probably sent to "spy" on them. All these are not true. The boy is an active Izala member of Zamfara. He isn't a beginner either. He's one of their shining youth star.

NEIS already have 71,500+ registered civic agents.
This is about 36% of our intended target of 200,000.
Only unreported/uncovered polling unit on election night are susceptible to figure manipulations with no trace.
Don't let your polling unit go unreported.
It's simple, just send the accurate result and the EC8A picture from your phone to our server, we will make it open to the public real time.
This way, when citizens are going to collation centres, they already have a projection of expected figures.
This is the ultimate way to proactively prevent rigging- every other approach is chasing shadows when damage is already done.

26-year-old Obanyeli Jesse Chima was an international student from Nigeria who had just finished his master's degree in Public Health in London.
He was waiting in a lounge to meet friends for a joint birthday celebration when he said he needed to step outside for some air. His breathing quickly deteriorated.
Despite using three different inhalers he had with him, nothing helped. His friend called an ambulance, but while she was still on the phone with the operator, he collapsed.
His friends started CPR right there on the street, guided by the emergency operator.
Paramedics spent about two hours working to stabilise him before rushing him to hospital.
He was placed on life support. At first, medics hoped he would only suffer memory loss.
But two days later, doctors confirmed there had been no improvement and tests showed he was brain-dead.
Jesse was just 26. He leaves behind three siblings in Nigeria.
He was known as a passionate Chelsea FC fan who had even worked at the club.
His friend Eva said his family had been saving money to fly over for his graduation.
"His family had saved money for his graduation, and now that money needs to be used to bury their child," she said.
Friends are now raising money to transport his body back to Nigeria so his family can lay him to rest.
