🇮🇷 The Islamist regime is not Iran. 🇮🇷 🙉Even as the economy collapses and the threat of more bombs hangs in the air, #Halloween is claimed by Iranians — surreal, and almost absurd — simply to defy! 🙈 Iranians numb the present — just enough — to refuse its total claim on them. ♦️Like the paisley, that old Persian symbol of ‘bending without breaking,’ the Iranian people endure, hanging onto the promise that: happier days will come. #Iran #PersianPaisley #SupportIranians #IranianHolloween
War worries seem a million miles from the minds of these Iranian teenagers in Tehran as they brace themselves for a funky Halloween.

Prayers for Killing: from the pulpits of Michigan Islamist institutions, prayers asking God to “count them one by one and kill them all.” One of these institutions received $45 million in public money.

I have formed a strong impression that in spite of our sustained engagement with Iran since the Shia extremist takeover, our leaders have not read Xenophon's Anabasis which explains how Iran's peculiar geography offsets the qualitative inferiority of its forces. Nothing has changed since 401 BC

My new @nypost op-ed: The Islamic Republic only survives on war. Don't give the regime what it craves. I spent years at @USTreasury squeezing this regime and I want it gone. That's exactly why the next round of bombs should stay in the racks. This regime is built to fight, not to govern. A blackout in wartime is a sacrifice the IRGC can police; in a cease-fire, it's a failure the regime must explain. Hold the blockade. Make them run the country they broke.

⚠️ Clever spy-craft? Barnea boasts Mossad released video of its assets so Iran's thug regime would mass-arrest, giving his agents cover. 💥 Boasting 21,000 Iranians were arrested, ordinary, innocent Iranians were treated as noise to absorb. 💥 Being used w/o care is exactly what Iranians fear most, and it matches the regime's narrative. 👉‼️ Swagger / Bravado is not SMART public diplomacy! #Iran #IranFreedom #Barnea #Mossad

Excellent point by @AriFleischer. It’s NOT the faith, but the tool you choose to turn it into. (That applies universally to All faiths?) #ChicContrarianism #RedGreenAlliance
Abdul is not the only Muslim to run for the Senate. Mehmet Oz ran in 2024. No one ran against Oz because he’s a Muslim. That’s because Oz didn’t call Israel Bloodthirsty. Oz didn’t write an oped urging support for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. Oz didn’t have donors who belonged to the MB. Oz didn’t blame terrorism on the policies of the US. And Oz didn’t justify a terrorist on a synagogue. This race isn’t about Abdul’s faith. It’s about his extremist ideas.

To add to Taleblu’s good points: 👉@USAMBTurkiye is right on the decisive point: only Iranians can produce a durable political change. ♦️Once the regime’s chokehold of repression / economic isolation loosens, Iranian will organize & reshape their future from within. ⚠️The historical shorthand is imprecise— 1953 was a CIA-backed initiative; But, 1979 was an indigenous revolution the U.S. neither engineered nor controlled. 👉Those distinctions matter. 👉The practical lesson: externally imposed regime change has a weak record of producing stable, legitimate outcomes. Why❓The day-after problem remains real. 👉The useful implication is therefore clear: Pressure that starves ordinary Iranians while leaving the security apparatus intact has not opened the political space. ♦️Give Iranians the agency they have long lacked. That is the path consistent w/ both realism & the people who must live with the result. @therealBehnamBT #IranWar #RegimeChange #SupportIranianPeople
I'm going to sidestep the rather large historical inaccuracies around "installing" Iranian leaders and doing regime change as one would a lightbulb... But one of the things U.S. policy on Iran has suffered from is the lack of intellectual continuity. It often sounds as if so many U.S. administrations genuinely start from zero on Iran while the Islamic Republic has had the benefit of years of experience and lessons learned. Administrations intead have chosen to expend their term on dealing with Iran as a matter of political fiction, fantasy, or fallacy, only to be moved toward a variant of the kick the can down the road sort of approach. No wonder the Islamic Republic has held on for 47 years...

⚠️ @TomBarrackJr makes abundantly clear, that @POTUS’ policy on #Iran, is NOT regime change, pointing out it’s all about: “what is the day-two scenario.” 👉This falls in direct conflict w/ the signal coming out of Jerusalem: “Regime change [in Iran] is the only option.” 🟥≠🔴 — So, how can this circle be squared? @USAMBTurkiye #IranWar #IranRegimeChange #SupportIranianPeople
