I've uncovered why LADWP water rates are skyrocketing.
LADWP's supplier said water conservation was too successful, leading water use/revenue to collapse— justifying a 40% rate hike.
They asked us to save water, so we did. But we saved too much, so they're spiking our rates.
An independent, non-city-affiliated audit of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power rates has been ordered by Mayor Karen Bass, her office says. ktla.com/news/local-news/ind…

blows my mind we never installed speed cams earlier, it’s the closest thing to a “fix everything button” we have to speeding related killings/injuries. Plus, all fine $ goes to infrastructure fixes!
anyone opposed to this at this point expressly supports excess death and mayhem:
Which “studio” did the MV, because I think she has grounds to go after them.
Search says North of Now and Partizan.
A$AP Rocky accused of using visuals from a 2019 video in his “Shroom Clouds” music video 👀🚨
- The original creator has shared a comparison highlighting the similarities between the two videos
- The accusations add to the backlash over Rocky’s use of AI, with multiple AI artists credited in the production
- Rocky and his team have yet to publicly respond to the allegations

Cache is insanely talented and we run in the same VFX circles, so it's super lame to see a massive production straight up steal her work.
A$AP's vid is credited to AI Artists, so the question is did they knowingly rip off the clip or just not know where their prompting was stealing from? Either way, bad form.

Travis Knight says the final battle in ‘WILDWOOD’ is the most difficult sequence ever made at LAIKA.
“It required us to use every single technique… It's a combination of hand drawn animation, stop-motion animation, CG animation & it’s something to behold.”
GOOD.
Congratulations to FitzChivalry Farseer. Just like Althea, it seems RoTE fans have dominated even Stormlight and crowned them both Fantasy Character Champions!

China’s first AI-generated theatrical film, ‘Sanxingdui: Future Past’, has bombed at their domestic box office, only making $121,000 USD against a budget of $1.5M USD.
In contrast, the crudely animated ‘Niu Lai’ made nearly $10M USD against a budget of $200-500 USD.

Congratulations to Althea Vestrit and RoTE/Liveship Traders fans for crowning her the Female Fantasy Character Champion!

The Female Grand Final: Althea vs. Navani -> you know what to do. RoTE vs. Stormlight, could it have been anything else? (voting rules in image)

I bet anything the MPA went harder on the lack of bike helmets than they did on the violence, I am not joking. It’s not even that bloody. Marvel films have just as much or more blood with their PG-13 ratings.
PG-13 is the new PG, it seems. It used to really mean something 🤷♂️

Look, I don’t really like to “pull rank” in any fandom, but this has to be said:
If you weren’t there for the first 27 episodes of CR C1, you have NO IDEA what a “bad player” actually looks like at this table.
Trust me. Whitney is NOT a bad player.
god FUCK is Whitney a bad player. didnt give a shit about what the dm told her and its not a matter of note taking its a matter of whether you care about the story or not. and it was not because tyranny is "chaotic" its because she is simply unclever #criticalrolespoilers
I’m pretty sure Laika had a harder time with the MPA over Prue not wearing a helmet than they did with the blood.
