Greatest ever in the second test in a new country.
Kavem Hodge:
100 in his 2nd Test at ENG
100 in his 2nd Test at NZ
100 in his 2nd Test at BAN
& 100(71+29) in his 2nd Test at AUS too
WI highest scorer in that famous Gabba test win
Turning out to be a solid overseas batsman for WI

2022 U19 World Cup, Kevin Wickham didn't even make WI's 15-man squad, came in as covid replacement and finished as their leading scorer. That squad had some wonderful talents even with those coming from the reserves. I do think Ackeem Auguste will have a good career

"That's part and parcel of selling books, I suppose," Darren Lehmann, Australia head coach on that 2018 tour of South Africa, says about the timing of Usman Khawaja's revelation 👀

Apologies I stuffed up and posted these without audio which is really embarrassing for me but even more embarrassing for the people replying as if they watched who clearly didn’t.
Unexpected circumstances, but a nice wicket for Wickham to have made his debut on (Contrast with Anderson who was given a debut against Starc in a pink ball game 😭).
Nice start. Hopefully he goes big in this innings.
Who hasn't flung their baby at 145ks at another human being?
MITCHELL JOHNSON: As a bowler, the ball is your main tool. It’s your baby. That a ball could be scuffed with sandpaper and the bowlers not notice didn’t make sense to me.

Love that there is a space in cricket for the keen observers.
They may not be able to execute what the pros do, but are able to distill it so it can become teachable (to some extent).

The real revelation is that Khawaja said in the dressing room that the team should cop it together, and they didn't. Genuinely shocking if true.
Exclusive interview from @danbrettig in today’s SMH/Age. Usman Khawaja tips a bucket on Aussie cricket. Says Bancroft used sandpaper earlier in 2018 series and that everyone knew about it.
His teammates will enjoy that one … 💣

Khawaja's "revelations" do also of course confirm the 17/18 Ashes are void meaning England retained the urn in 2019.
21/22 was already void because of covid, so England retain again in 23.
Not sure how we can void 25/26 because listen, fair play, that one was mainly on us.

Of course everyone can and will question Uzzie's convenient timing. He obviously wouldn't have jeopardised his playing career over it. But genuinely think he'd have kinda let it go if it were not for the two guys he's been the closest to bearing the brunt of the whole thing.

I want to be an international cricketer who travels the world facing throwdowns all day but never gets selected in a match.
