1. UAE diplomat Lana Nusseibeh wants to lead the UN.
2. A UN report found her country sent Colombian mercenaries to the genocidal RSF in Sudan.
3. She repeatedly lied to cover up that criminal complicity.
4. That should make her ineligible to be UN chief. trib.al/XOlrWyM

A vital, fact-based thread on the root causes of the #HornOfAfrica crisis.
The timeline proves this military escalation is a premeditated violation of international law and #Eritrea’s sovereignty.
Sadly, the inaction of the @_AfricanUnion has allowed dangerous "sea access" rhetoric to explode into active warfare.
The #AU looked away when Ethiopia declared persona non grata against Eritrea's Head of Mission, who is also the accredited Ambassador of Eritrea to the AU and nine other diplomats in Addis Ababa.
The #AU stayed silent when drone strikes were and continue to be launched from the Ethiopian heartland into Sudan, targeting Khartoum and critical civilian infrastructure.
The Prosperity Party (Potemkin Party) is destabilizing the region, operating as an unaccountable proxy front for external forces.
The international community must move past weak and fragmented statements and enforce strict #UNCharter deterrents immediately to restore #RegionalPeace.

In the current international/diplomatic discourse regarding the imperative of adherence to, and respect of, foundational pillars of international law as well as the maintenance of regional peace and security, the following salient facts and sequence of events must be recognized, without any equivocation, as the kernel/principal causes behind the prevailing grave situation:
1. On 13 October 2023, the Potemkin Party willfully manufactured an unnecessary and avoidable crises between the two countries by formally and publicly declaring its hostile agenda of acquiring "sovereign access to the sea", apparently and ultimately through invasion and occupation of Eritrea's sovereign lands. This dangerous declaration constituted a flagrant violation of foundational pillars of international law as well as the Joint Declaration of Peace and Friendship signed between the two countries in Asmara on 9 July 2018.
2. This initial declaration was ramped up in subsequent years through relentless and incendiary media campaigns; associated saber-rattling, and massive rearmament. The scope of the PP's impending invasion was also broadened to include forcible incorporation of Eritrea's southern coastline (see attached map) for the establishment of "a sovereign naval force with strategic depth".
3. The war agenda was further ratcheted up and translated into an operational plan when the PP regime launched its military operations in the Tigray Administrative Region in mid-September this year. Indeed a couple of days after the eruption of the war, the PP's Deputy Chief of Staff announced that "Mekelle will be a mere stop-over... the main objective is to install our flag in the Red Sea".
4. And on 9 October last month, the PP regime went further to ominously "notify the UNSC" on the unleashing of its war of aggression against Eritrea under the spurious pretext of "self-defense".
The writing on the wall is thus crystal clear; eliciting, as it does, unequivocal condemnation as well as requisite deterrent measures in accordance with explicit provisions of the UN Charter and associated instruments.

Cycling looks like an individual sport. It isn’t. You take turns at the front, you shelter the rider behind you, and nobody finishes alone.
Our National Goodwill Ambassador @GrmayeBiniam rode with @UNDP Administrator @AlexanderDeCroo ahead of #COP31, talking about what cycling teaches ➡️ shared goals, knowing when to lead, and respect for the people riding with you.
Climate action asks for the same. In #Eritrea that work runs across several fronts, with solar energy reaching communities among them. 🎬 Watch below

Eritrea is making that same effort on climate, and I am glad to be part of it with @UNDPEritrea.

You never win alone — and nations don't either. While the world watches the podium, #Eritrea's climate work is being done quietly, mile by mile. Proud to see @GrmayeBiniam carrying that same spirit beyond cycling. 🇪🇷🌍

#Ethiopia is once again sliding towards armed conflict. How many more wars must its people endure before its leaders learn? They continue to impose violence than building mutual respect. Is Ethiopia heading toward fragmentation into separate states? @USUN @StateDept @BBCNews

This says a lot about which country has been committed to weaken and fragment its neighbour since the 1940.
On June 13, 1946, then British Foreign Secretary, Ernest Bevin, met his Ethiopian counterpart, Aklilu Habtewold, and Bevin suggested that Ethiopia and Britain should take a common stand to thwart the possibility of Italy’s return to the region in any capacity. He then presented the British plan for a Greater Somalia and the partition of Eritrea as the ultimate solution for the threat posed by Italy. Aklilu was quick to point out that any talk of excising the Ogaden from Ethiopia was offensive to his country. Instead, he proposed that Eritrea and the ancient port of Zeila in the north-western Adal region of Somalia be ceded to Ethiopia. Ethiopia would then be willing to agree to a British takeover of pastureland adjacent to British Somaliland for the Greater Somalia project. The meeting ended inconclusively with Bevin pointing out that the issue would finally be settled by the United Nations.
On May 9, 1949 Bevin and his Italian counterpart,
Count Carlo Sforza presented a plan to the UNGA that included the partition of Eritrea. The plan was rejected by the UNGA. Ethiopia, which advocated that Eritrea was "Ethiopia's lost child" supported the partition of Eritrea.

The truth is that #Ethiopia lacks the independent capacity to sustain such an operation on its own. Addis Ababa is acting as a channel for the #UAE’s support to the #RSF.
#Ethiopia is simply carrying out the UAE’s agenda in Sudan and the wider Horn of Africa. @sudanaxis

A team of young Eritrean innovators has been selected for the @Y4Cofficial Call for Solutions 2026 with their bio-wall system — one of 50 projects selected from 2,677 proposals across 121 countries.
With @UNDP's support, the team will implement their project over the next two years and present it at the #Youth4Climate programme in Italy this month.
Congratulations to the team! 🇪🇷

Ethiopia’s Pan-Africanist symbolic credentials cannot shield its successive regimes from scrutiny. How can a state invoke African unity while undermining the sovereignty and self-determination of other #African peoples?
Haile Selassie helped found the #OAU in 1963. Yet in 1962, his government dismantled #Eritrea’s federal autonomy and annexed it. #Ethiopia’s record toward #Somalia raises further questions about territorial claims, intervention and regional hegemony.
The OAU Charter enshrined sovereign equality, territorial integrity, non-interference and peaceful dispute settlement. These are not principles to invoke when convenient and discard when they constrain Ethiopia’s ambitions.
#PanAfricanism is not a licence for African states to dominate other African peoples. It demands consistency: liberation for all, sovereignty for all, self-determination for all. Continental prestige means nothing when the principles proclaimed in Addis Ababa are denied to those whose freedom challenges state interests.

Unbelievable. For 3 years, all the senior officials in Ethiopia have been speaking provocatively about the Red Sea, violating the territorial integrity of their neighboring countries, and even cooperating with terrorist organizations when necessary. Yet they receive no harsh warning from either the US or the EU.

* 🎭 Pure Opportunism: Once branded "unfit and out of his depth," Abiy Ahmed now makes Getachew Reda his East Africa advisor.
* 🚨 Regional Chaos: Former bitter foes unite while destabilizing neighbors—proving Abiy's rule thrives on reckless survival, not genuine peace.
From branding @AbiyAhmedAli unfit, inexperienced & out of his depth, @reda_getachew is now his East African Affairs Advisor. Advocating “regional stability” while 🇪🇹 destabilizes 🇸🇩 & invades 🇪🇷n sovereignty shows how fast former foes become key allies.
