I’ve joined the FTC and 19 other states in suing Dollar General over alleged deceptive pricing practices that have cost consumers millions of dollars.
Arkansans should not have to pay more at the register than the price advertised on the shelf.
My office will continue holding businesses accountable for deceptive practices that hurt Arkansas consumers. tinyurl.com/3sb3a4ev #arnews
Today I launched our One Pill Can Kill initiative at @uamshealth, marking our 15th college campus and 20th training in Arkansas. We're equipping students with the knowledge and skills to recognize the dangers of illicit opioids and respond to overdoses. One pill can kill, but one person can save a life. tinyurl.com/36dacc8x #arnews

Congratulations to Elizabeth Anderson on receiving the Trooper Ermon Cox Award and thank you for your unwavering dedication to those who wear the badge. #arnews

Today I joined @WCFirst for The Big Reveal: Arkansas Responds Together at the Forest of Hope Family Peace Center. Raising awareness about domestic violence is important, but awareness in and of itself is not enough. It must be matched with a safe place where victims can find real help and healing. This first-class facility brings critical services together under one roof so victims can focus on rebuilding their lives.
Women & Children First’s leaders first shared their vision of this facility with me back in 2017. I encouraged them then to dream big and build the center that would actually make a difference in the lives of domestic abuse victims. Today they have realized that dream. #arnews
I am proud to sign @VP JD Vance’s Pledge to Protect Americans from Fraud. My office stands on the front lines to protect Arkansans from fraudsters each and every day, and I applaud the Vice President for establishing the @WHFraudTF to bring resources and awareness to this important fight.
Today I filed a lawsuit against @OpenAI, the company that owns the platform @ChatGPT. Our complaint outlines numerous violations of Arkansas law, but they all boil down to a simple fact: OpenAI represented to Arkansans that ChatGPT was safe, but they knew ChatGPT had significant risks and limitations. They chose to hide that knowledge from consumers.
Our complaint alleges that consumers, including minors, have used ChatGPT to acquire instructions for self-harm, including suicide. It also describes instances where users were able to bypass OpenAI’s safety measures and generate responses the company said its safeguards were designed to prevent. Those examples raise serious questions about whether consumers were given an accurate picture of the product’s safety protections.
OpenAI assures us that ChatGPT is safe. The consequences of that assurance are lives lost and people harmed. tinyurl.com/mu6jaswy #arnews
Arkansas is stronger and safer when our criminal justice professionals work together. Today I joined members of the Arkansas Criminal Justice Professionals Association in Hot Springs to discuss fentanyl, human trafficking, prison capacity, the SAFE Act, and other important issues. I encouraged them to bring forward ideas from their experience on the front lines as we prepare for the upcoming legislative session. Their training, integrity, and collaboration make a difference across our state. #arnews
