Have a lengthy list of Layers but only a few Frames? Stack that Timeline tall-wise by realigning it to left or right side of your Workspace instead of the bottom! Click the Settings button above the Layers list and choose new position to switch things up~ #aseprite #UI #ProTip

😕Are you sick of being TOTALLY COMFORTABLE with how you pick colours in #ASEprite?😴 Try adding or removing the lines between your colour swatches to see palettes in a REMARKABLY DIFFERENT WAY!🤯 Add the lines for a pure view of each colour! Remove them for a contrastier feel!

🛠The option to remove or restore the dividing lines is near the bottom in the GENERAL tab of the PREFERENCES PANE under EDIT!🎨 It can seem weird at first, but give it a try for a little while and see how it feels once you are used to it!~ Tip current to ASEprite v1.3-rc6-x64.

Indeed, although it only works if [Auto Select Layer] is toggled ON at the top of the Workspace~ (If it breaks, that is how to fix it!) You can do it by CTRL-LMB clicking the same way too, which brings you to the layer of the upper-most visible pixel! 💡Thank you for the tip!😀

@ASE_ProTips just found your account. Knowing this would've saved so much time. The move tool (bound to the v key by default) will move you to the layer of any pixel you click and shift+x toggles layer visibility

Closed a sprite too early, but did not quit? 💾Do not just reopen the file! Use > 𝙵𝚒𝚕𝚎 / 𝙾𝚙𝚎𝚗 𝚁𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚗𝚝 / 𝚁𝚎𝚘𝚙𝚎𝚗 𝙲𝚕𝚘𝚜𝚎𝚍 𝙵𝚒𝚕𝚎 and get it with its ⌛️edit history intact!⌛️ #ASEprite remembers multiple files and reopens them in the order closed! #ProTip

Bored with the default colour palette #ASEprite came with on every new image? 🎨A new selection can change how you think!💡 Pick out a new palette, then click [Save As Default Palette] in the Colour Picker's rightmost [≡] Options menu to set them as your new default! #Protips

🔄Looking to Undo to a point in the distant past but do not want to lean on Ctrl-Z forever?⌚️ #ASEprite has an Undo History Pane that lets you scroll through everything you have done and jump directly to any specific point you like! Find it in [Edit > Undo History]! #UI #ProTip

The interpreter also supports fairly complex equations! Besides addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (*), and division ( / ), you can also use parenthetical ( ( ) ) and exponential (𝚎 + #-of-zeroes) notation! Try it out~ Calculate the height and width OF YOUR DREAMS✨

✨Here is a quick #ProTip for you #ASEprite fans! ❎🔀Press 'X' to swap your current Foreground and Background (LMB/RMB) colours on-the-fly! Besides being handy for tablets and one-button mice, set the alternate colour to 'Mask' for a brush-sized eraser just one keystroke away!

Press and hold SHIFT while drawing lines with the Line Tool to constrict your angle to vertical or horizontal axes, 45-degree angles, or 1:2 or 2:1 angle ratios! Great for setting up #isometric #pixelart scenes! Hold CTRL to draw diametic (double-ended) lines~ #aseprite #protip

=PSA for #ASEprite users with v1.3-b6= You may have noticed that if you hold Undo or Redo, only the first step is updated and subsequent ones are undone/redone invisibly. 🔧There is a fix for it! 🪲 Go to "Experimental" in Edit/Preferences and disable "UI with multiple windows"
