The point is, you didn’t grow up going there as a kid, so the whole story is bullshit. Which is sort of your shtick, so makes sense.

We need more of this. Normal, average Americans speak in these blunt terms. Trump is unfit for office for a million reasons, but chief among them is that he is a moron. A buffoon.

Happy Opener, South Dakota! Foster and I wish you good luck in the field! Pheasant hunting is part of who we are, and it’s a tradition worth passing on to our kids and grandkids. As Governor, I partnered with landowners to start the Second Century Initiative, helping turn marginal land into wildlife habitat so the next generation can enjoy the same hunting traditions we grew up with.

Fuck Jason Miyares. He knows the governor has nothing to do with who is considered for parole at any given time—it’s a function of law. Moreover, most parole cases these days are what’s known as geriatric parole (since discretionary parole was abolished 31 years ago). If you reach a certain age, and have served a certain portion of your sentence, you’re considered for release. That’s it. No discretion involved in determining who’s considered. Almost no one is actually granted release, though. Our grant rate is one of the lowest in the country. Jason Miyares is a reprehensible liar. He does not care about truth or justice. He cares about manipulating voters and making Virginians as afraid as possible, since his priority is his own ambition, and fear is his only campaign strategy. I can’t believe this half-wit demagogue ever held elected office in Virginia or anywhere else.
While I was AG, our office’s rape kit testing program identified this rape survivor’s attacker after more than 30 years. Just months later after receiving a 24 yr sentence, Spanberger’s parole board put him up for release. From the Victim when hearing the news: “I wanted to throw up…i get no justice? I’m petrified he is going to be released…all these people they are letting out is terrifying.” Justice delayed shouldn’t be Justice overturned!

Seriously? Seems kinda harsh from @RonFilipkowski considering I agree with his core premise. Guy can’t take a slightly different opinion that still agrees with the overall point?

I find Hegseth as repugnant as the next reasonable person, but these attacks are stupid and dilute good arguments about the stuff he’s doing that’s actually dangerous and destructive. He’s 46 years old running with a bunch of super in shape 20-somethings. I would hope they’d be smoking him. All these critiques of his pushups and whatever - it’s dumb. He’s not in the military and if he were, at his age, he’d be a flag officer. Google the difference in physical fitness test standards for a 46 year old admiral and a 21 year old ensign. They’re way different for a reason. As a veteran I would’ve thought it was awesome to be working out with SecDef, separate and apart from all the issues with Hegseth’s tenure.

🚨INCREDIBLE: During a multi-vehicle collision on the Route 90 bridge in Ocean City, Maryland, a 2-year-old girl was ejected from a pickup truck, falling nearly 30 feet into the Assawoman Bay below. Jonathan Bauer, who was driving across the bridge with his teenage daughter when the crash occurred, rushed over to inspect the wreckage. Looking down into the water, he saw the toddler floating face down and becoming unresponsive. Without hesitation, Bauer instructed his daughter to flag down first responders, removed his shoes, and leapt off the bridge into the bay. He swam to the little girl, lifted her onto his shoulder, and patted her back until she coughed up water and began breathing again. A passing pontoon boat quickly navigated toward them, pulling both Bauer and the toddler out of the water and transporting them to shore, where emergency personnel were waiting. The child was airlifted to a regional medical center for evaluation and released the following day in good condition. Bauer was later honored by local law enforcement and civic leaders for his decisive actions and selflessness.

Look, if you can't laugh at the president desperately promising angry farmers that he'll magically replace massive quantities of fertilizer from our nextdoor military ally with small imaginary quantities from a tinpot authoritarian thousands of miles away, then you simply have no sense of humor.

Trump and his allies like Bannon have been telegraphing their intention to undermine the midterms since at least January. People have generally responded to those concerns by pointing out that there are laws, a Constitution even, preventing them from doing this or that. But that’s not how these people think. You’re talking about an administration that is really more akin to a criminal enterprise filled with people who have everything to lose if Democrats regain control this year and beyond. Unprecedented, naked corruption. Trump and his allies aren’t just going to let something like a 30% approval rate or laws stop them from trying to stay in power the way any kleptocratic authoritarian regime would to avoid a popular reckoning. And then you have all these groups like Heritage and Claremont waiting in the wings to provide a laughably thin veneer of intellectualism and legitimacy the efforts to upend our elections because conservative institutions have placed their loyalty in Trump over America. The truth is that right sees itself as the only political force with a legitimate claim to rule, with the only legitimate vision of governance, a law unto themselves, and that opens to the door to a lot of ugly possibilities.

Here's your reminder that George Washington successfully opposed a congressional plan to put his face on a coin because he thought it was too king-like. Hard to think of a more perverse way to celebrate America's 250th than with this tacky-ass Trump coin.
