The Giants are placing Tyrone Tracy on IR, per Joe Schoen.
Brutal for him, he's been battling to get back in the fold and looked good the last 2 weeks.
It's now the Skat + Singletary show. Singletary is a good RB, actually believe he's very competent.
DeForest Buckner is a guy Iād absolutely be calling Indianapolis about.
Four sacks through seven games. The Giants have HALF a sack combined from D.J. Reader, Shelby Harris and Darius Alexander. Those guys have different jobs, but that tells you why adding an interior pass rusher is worth exploring.
Reader can handle the dirty work against the run. Buckner can attack a guardās outside shoulder and collapse the pocket, giving quarterbacks less room to step away from Abdul Carter and Kayvon. With Burns out for the year, finding another way to generate pressure is critical the rest of the way.
My opening offer: a 2028 3rd-round pick or a 2027 3rd-round pick, but I need another pick in return. Thatās my proposal, personally. Indy is 2ā5, but it still has to be willing to move him.
The contract is important: Bucknerās two-year, $46 million extension runs through 2026. Heād be a rental, not someone you automatically control next season. An acquiring team would take on the unpaid portion of his $13 million base salary unless Indy agreed to cover some, NOT his full $26.6 million Colts cap hit.
Heās 32 and had neck surgery last winter, so the medical review matters. He has played all seven games this season.
Iām not giving up much more for a rental. But a 3rd in 2027 for a legitimate interior threat while this division is there to be won? Iād have to consider it.
The BEST possible outcome for the Giants is that J.J. McCarthy ends up being really good and then Jaxson Dart returns, who we KNOW is really good.
You have 2 potential franchise QBs on your roster, and a shit ton of leverage, and both QBs still have 5th-year options :)
DAMN IT... Would've loved him on the Giants, he would've been a STUD at guard.
Lets see if the Giants have other ideas in mind!
Trade: Colts have agreed to send eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, per me and @rapsheet. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts are opting to get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency.
But an all-time Colt now moves on to the Seahawks.
D.J. Reader deserves a lot more love.
Through seven games: 15 run stops on 119 qualifying run plays.
His 12.6% run-stop rate is SECOND among 44 interior defenders with at least 100 qualifying run plays, per PFF.
Average tackle against the run: just 2.2 yards downfield.
Love having that big man in the middle.
Screw it letās just take everyone from the Colts and leave Daniel Jones there to suffer
The Colts are soon expected to listen to trade offers on the following players, per @AdamSchefter:
Jonathan Taylor
Quenton Nelson
DeForest Buckner
Keenan Allen
After a loss to the Vikings, Indianapolis is about to pivot into seller mode at 2-5.
Isaiah Likely is ONE catch away from matching his career high.
His best season in Baltimore: 42 catches in 16 games.
His first seven games with the Giants: 41 catches, 395 yards and five touchdowns.
Thatās a pretty damn good start to the bigger role they paid him to take on.
Three years and $40 million was a bet on what Likely could become with more opportunity. The Giants didnāt just pay for the upside and leave him in the same role. They made him a major part of the offense.
Heās 26, signed through 2028, and there are still 10 games left this season. This is the kind of free-agent investment I want to see more of.
Giants pass protection vs. Houston:
Andrew Thomas: 1 sack allowed
Jon Runyan: 2 hits allowed
Bryan Hudson: 0 pressures
Francis Mauigoa: 0 pressures (highest graded lineman)
Jermaine Eluemunor: 4 hurries allowed but LOCKED down Will Anderson all day
All five played 32 pass-block snaps.
Hudson and Mauigoa with completely CLEAN pressure columns. Eluemunor allowed no sacks or hits.
Against an ELITE pass rush, the Giants pretty much dominated.
This gives me vintage Jason Pierre-Paul vibes...
I remember watching JPP hunt down ball-carriers from legit anywhere. Arvell Reese has that same effort, and he absolutely obliterates anyone in his path.
Special, special player, and he's a rookie!!
Literally one of the best free agent signings in Giants history and Iām not joking @JEluemunor
Texans edge Willie Anderson can blow up an offensive game plan. Today he was no factor, held to 4 tackles 0 TFL, 0 sacks and 0 QB hits.
@JEluemunor should get a game ball.
Iām so serious that might be one of the best throws any NYG quarterback has had over the last few years and JJ McCarthy threw itā¦
Off balance to layer that outside the numbers in between 2 defenders? Kid has absurd arm talent.
8 PRESSURES FROM ABDUL CARTER!!
We have a legit star pass rusher, just imagine if Brian Burns was healthy šš
Shoutout to Joe Schoen for getting JJ McCarthy for a 5th-round pick...
He's easily worth AT LEAST a 3rd-rounder, and it's been like 2.5 weeks since we got him š
Maybe worth a lot more pretty soon!

The Giants just won a game with ZERO passing touchdowns, and JJ McCarthy still gave them exactly what they needed.
Thereās a lot to like about who showed up in this 27ā21 win.
Cam Skattebo went for 124 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, then ripped off a 42-yard run in overtime. THAT is the difference he can make when you get the running game going.
Malik Nabers caught seven passes for 111 yards. Another big game, but this time he had some real help.
Malachi Fields FINALLY broke out of the two-catch routine. Six straight games with exactly two catches, then four for 83 today. Weāve been asking for another young receiver to give this offense something. Thatās a pretty damn good response.
JJ finished 20-of-28 for 252 yards with no interceptions in his first Giants start. He put the ball at the 2 and the 1 on completions that set up first-half touchdowns. The passing TD column doesnāt tell that story.
And how about Devin Singletary? Five carries, 41 yards, and a 30-yard WALK-OFF touchdown. Skattebo got them going in overtime. Singletary finished it.
Micah McFadden deserves his love, too: 10 tackles, all solo, two tackles for loss and a QB hit. He was involved in the three-and-out that gave the offense its overtime chance.
188 rushing yards. FOUR rushing touchdowns. Fields giving you a second 80-yard receiver alongside Nabers.
Give me more of THIS. More guys contributing instead of asking the same two players to rescue every drive.
