The mayors of Ontario’s big cities are unanimously calling on @JustinTrudeau and @FP_Champagne to reverse the #CRTC’S disastrous recent decision on wholesale rates, which is causing Canadians’ internet bills to climb. Kudos to the mayors for seeing through Big Telecom’s BS.
Ontario's Big City Mayors are calling for a proof of vaccination system, joining business groups, health care organizations, and many of our caucus members advocacy for this. (1/2)

I believe everything in telco will move to the public cloud. @ElonMusk thinks, in 5 years, we'll be on Mars. Which one do you think will be first? Let's explore that question.

Less than 0.1% of traffic to the @dotmobileapp website is from Blackberry devices. I always wondered who was landing on our page with a crackberry in their hands, and now I know.

Almost missed this: @CRTCeng chose to amend their 2006 Policy Direction rather than adopt the 2019 Policy Direction, completely leaving out - innovation, - differentiated service offerings, and - investment in R&D or other intangible assets (ie. not towers).

This seems important: -encourage all forms of competition and investment But we got more facilities instead: -continued innovation and investment in, and affordable access to, high-quality telecommunications facilities in all regions of Canada, including rural and remote areas
2019 Policy Direction -enable innovation in [telecom] services, including new technologies and differentiated service offerings, -stimulate investment in research and development and in other intangible assets that support the offer and provision of telecommunications services
True story. I was planning on selling landlines to Canadians through @Mintmobile until this decision. Literally. This photo was taken on Saturday.

@VancityReynolds Hi Ryan! I'm a national reporter with CBC News. The CRTC just released its wireless decision on MVNO access - can you comment? canada.ca/en/radio-televisio…

Disappointing @CRTCeng decision today. Most Canadians will not benefit from the new mandate, and Roger's acquisition of Shaw will only make things worse. The door has opened a crack but it needs to be wider for sustained competition across the country. canada.ca/en/radio-televisio…

#CRTC makes PR mistake: 122.Regardless, with retail prices clearly trending downwards
The retail prices are still going UP. Bell’s Canada lowest advertised package is now at $80. The price per gig does not reflect the bill amount at end of month.

The #CRTC seems to not understand what the #MVNO is, let alone what Full MVNO is. Publishing the MVNO rates also does nothing as the rates for spectrum holders (regionals) are public. Do they think MVNO rates should be even higher than that? crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2021/… #INDU
