Seldom if ever seen so many EU flags at #LastNightOfTheProms. Anyone would think the country is genuinely sick to death of Brexit.

Sir Lindsay Hoyle, gave us new MPs such a warm welcome at Speaker’s House. His late father, Doug, represented the Nelson & Colne constituency 1974-79, and his father’s first run was actually for Clitheroe in 1964, during which Lindsay delivered leaflets, aged seven!

There’s a clear message for Europe here… Aping or appeasing the far-right only sucks you into them. You have to take it on, putting your own true principles out there in stark opposition to it. It a message for the Tories, for Labour (on immigration & Brexit) and all Europe.

This is an incredible piece of work by @JonathanPieNews. From the research, to the sequencing, to the performance. You want to know why so many people are turning away from vapid MSM and looking to political comedy & alternative news? Look no further. 👇

The polls show it is too close to call between Labour and the Conservatives in Pendle & Clitheroe. No other party is even close here. The choice could not be clearer: more decline under the Conservatives, or change with Labour.

Honestly - a few of the replies to this little tribute to engineering excellence exhibit a level of stupidity that suggests to me that it won’t be long before our spacecraft are the only thing that remains of our increasingly dim-witted civilisation. Until recently my guess has been that the answer to the Fermi Paradox might be found in biology - complex biological systems are rare. I’m increasingly of the view that the reason for The Great Silence is that civilisations are inevitably crushed by the weight of nobheads shortly after inventing the internet.
It never ceases to amaze me that a spacecraft launched in 1977 can be fixed remotely from Earth.

Of course this was widely trailed, but for me it’s nonsense. We will be in a situation post-election where virtually no MPs and maybe only 30% or so of voters actually believe that Brexit can be made to work. Are Labour really saying that they will defend Brexit against the inevitable ever-louder calls for a Norwegian / Swiss style arrangement at the very least? I don’t think so.
Labour's manifesto rules out rejoining the EU and says they will "make Brexit work"

Rational Design of a Potent Non-Psychedelic 5-MeO-DMT Analogue Antidepressant... The effects of the classic psychedelics depend primarily upon their activity at the serotonin 5HT2A receptor. When a classic psychedelic binds to this receptor subtype, it increases the excitability of the neuron, making it more likely the neuron will fire and increasing the flow of information between neuronal networks... I’ve discussed in an earlier post how this gives rise to the characteristic changes in the structure and dynamics of the experienced world (and the self). nitter.gq/alieninsect/status/149… If you want to get into this much more deeply, then my second book Reality Switch Technologies is what you’re looking for: buildingalienworlds.com/book… However, all known classic psychedelic molecules also have varying activity at several of the other 16 or so known serotonin receptor subtypes: The 5HT1A receptor is particularly interesting, since its effects on neural activity are in direct opposition to those of the 5HT2A receptor. That is, the 5HT1A receptor decreases neuron excitability and opposes the excitatory effects of the 5HT2A receptor. So, together, these two receptor subtypes form a kind of neural activity “tuning dial”, with the overall excitability of a neuron depending (at least partly) on the balance of 5HT1A and 5HT2A receptor activation. We can visualise the basal balance of the 1A-2A dial when stimulated by endogenous serotonin (5HT) alone... Many classic psychedelics have varying activity at the 5HT1A receptor as well as the 5HT2A receptor, which can shift the dial in either direction depending on their relative activity at each receptor subtype and can modulate their effects on neural activity and, as a result, their subjective effects... (cont.)
Why is psilocybin (or LSD or mescaline) psychedelic? A (long) thread. Whether you’re awake, dreaming, or in a peak psychedelic state, your experienced world is always a model constructed by your brain as a pattern of cortical activity.

🇬🇪To succeed in its quest for freedom and reduce its dependence on Russian trade, Georgia must find new markets for its products. This is one reason why they are very interested in EU membership. However, we can already help Georgia today! A thread about Georgian wine 🇬🇪🍷 1/25
