Agree.
I should have gone back to the installation with some ethanthiol and poured it into the flask 🤣 #artvandalism

I don't think the artists would see themselves as part of the fragrance industry. Seems like it was only on for 5 days. "Exploring the microscopic ecosystem within the cathedral's architecture and surroundings."

Agreed. As an installation I'd say this failed on all of these points. I'm still not sure why they chose this venue. As you say it's somewhat incongruous.

Similar to Linz Cathedral that day. The display was just off to the left.
Not much sign of any security there.

You'd think in a post-Covid era cross-infection would be a factor in these things. The funnel/flask looks a good microbe spreading device!

Not sure how resilient the display was but there were lots of groups of tourists ambling around. At least it survived the hours I was there. Maybe people are better behaved in cathedrals?

It looked a bit clunky to me, but very different amongst the other displays in the cathedral.

I saw an interesting olfactory installation at Linz Cathedral, Austria a couple of weeks ago.
Sound recordings of insects near olfactory plants, experienced via headphones and the funnel from the flask.

Seldom if ever seen so many EU flags at #LastNightOfTheProms. Anyone would think the country is genuinely sick to death of Brexit.

Wow!
I learn something truly fascinating, and often unexpected, every day. Nice use of gold nano-particles.
