“Defied all odds” and it’s the team who won 100 games in the regular season and also made the NLCS the year before. Yes why would we want to try and replicate that? It’s much more fun watching Julio chase low and away sliders for six months

Right the Brewers defied all odds and won playing small ball, so let's throw everything out the window and do that! Good plan!

“We feel getting Michael Arroyo healthy and on the field producing with the bat like he did toward the end of 2026 is far more valuable than any potential external addition we could have made this winter.” —Jerry Dipoto in March, probably
Mariners announce that Michael Arroyo underwent a elbow scope procedure with Dr. Keith Meister to clean up cartilage and brace a chronic injury to his UCL. Arroyo is expected to be ready to return to the field in April 2027.

Hahaha the fact that Jerry and Justin are picking the coaching staff for the manager should tell you EXACTLY how much autonomy the manager will have. When is it enough with these two?

We just watched the Brewers steamroll through the playoffs with an emphasis on putting the ball in play, getting runners over, etc., so hell yeah let’s bring in a guy whose mantra is essentially “swing for the fences”

Something Jerry Dipoto and Justin Hollander could never establish in their wildest dreams
You hear the word “accountability” all the time in sports. When it’s demanded by a manager, it often leads to a big payoff. Remember a game between the Mets and Brewers at Citi Field in late August? Cooper Pratt, two months into his major league career was pulled from the game by Pat Murphy because, having failed to execute a sacrifice bunt earlier in the game, Pratt did not run hard out of the box on a pop up near the right field line that fell between three Mets fielders. Pratt should have been at second base, but his lack of hustle forced him to hold on at first. Murphy would not tolerate that mistake, especially from a rookie. Well, look at Pratt and the Brewers now. That’s how you establish a winning culture, whether running hard out of the batter’s box is someone’s “cup of tea” or not.

John Stanton and Jerry Dipoto would prefer board room back slaps from their cronies for a 2.7% increase in profit margins than giving millions of Lifelong M's fans this moment.....Fuck you very much you soulless ghouls...
He's waited decades for this. He's never stopped believing. This is a dream come true. Enjoy this clip. He's everybody's dad tonight. #brewcrew #mlb #milwaukeebrewers

I can’t get it out of my head that the Mariners and Braves are the perfect trade partners for a deal surrounding Ronald Acuña Jr. Mariners need a RF impact bat on a relatively team-friendly deal. Braves need SP in the worst way. What am I missing here?

The more I think about the managerial search, the more I despise Jerry Dipoto and Justin Hollander. “Exhaustive” “Extensive” “Rigorous” You conducted ZERO in-person interviews for a month, didn’t even attempt to pursue Stephen Vogt, and your finalists are two Astros castoffs who are of the same mold that you’ve done over and over again. Used car salesmen. Fuck all the way off.

Feels like the Rays are in “must win” territory tonight or am I being a bit extreme?

At least we upgraded our 3B defense!
The Mariners traded for Brendan Donovan with hopes of playing deep into October. Instead, it's Ben Williamson and Tai Peete playing hero this month. Read more, and add us as a preferred source on Google!⬇️ sodomojo.com/ben-williamson-…

The Mariners technically didn’t lose the Brendan Donovan trade yet, but it’s currently 14-0 in the 6th inning and they don’t have a hit yet.

It terrifies me that 90% of these replies sound like they were written about Dan Wilson 😬

I think this might warm me up to Espada a bit. Seems very similar to how the Yankees fans view Aaron Boone, who is objectively a good manager.
Replying to @AngryMariners
As a Mariners fan that lives in Houston, Astros fans expectations have changed over the past decade and now that the core has left or is aging, Espada got the short of the stick with how the roster was built. With Crane and Bagwell making decisions it was a no win situation #GOMS

To any Astros fans who follow me, can you give me a serious rundown on Joe Espada? He’s very likely the next Mariners manager, so I need to know why Astros fans hate him so much.

Brandon Hyde may be my last realistic hope
Baldelli was thought to be a front-runner, if not the front-runner. But with three young kids and roots in Florida, Seattle appeared to be a stretch. Not sure where exactly this leaves the Mariners, but they’ve been hoping to have a manager in place in next 7-10 days.

Baldelli the second he’s told he won’t be able to make the lineups:
Rocco Baldelli has withdrawn from the Mariners’ managerial search, citing family considerations at this moment in time, sources tell The Athletic.
