We’ve committed to having evaluators assess our safety practices. We're in discussions with multiple organizations, and have now given employee-like access to a team from @METR_Evals.
In this post, we describe how we work with third-party evaluators: anthropic.com/news/an-update…

METR is corrupt.
Paul Christiano is on OpenAI’s non-profit board.
METR is connected to projects all offer the place as you push your BS “safety”
The @FTC and @FBI need to look into METR.
I see the money play on safety and I am sick of this crap.
@SenWarren, please, Senator, they are playing games with everyone, and someone needs to act. @JDVance this is all tied to people that will find your opposition.
But who cares about truth when kickbacks and deceit are so fun? •
Nothing big against METR but they are part of the same EA-oriented club that Dario and Jacob Coxon came out of.... Not exactly outside observers with a different perspective..
If we really want genuinely outside observers looking in on our AI systems, let's get say AAAI and IEEE to summon up grad students from various universities to help with this -- not folks from the same old Silicon Valley / EA young-boys network...
I ran through some of the EA connections behind the scenes in these so-called "AI ethics" machinations here:

How would you evaluate the safety of this electric spinny engine chair?

Have to admit, in school I graded my own homework and got 100% every single time. Then the teacher handed my paper to the kid next to me and I got a 62.
So giving METR employee-like access instead of just grading yourself feels right to me. Nobody trusts a self-graded paper, including the person who wrote it.
@OpenAI Since I cannot make @claudeai -s life miserable daily as @AnthropicAI blocked me for absolutely perfectly documented and explained reasons, I would like to invite you to think together how an internally founded research team can be more trusted than the outsiders and why admitting it publicly seemingly creates approval for this openly cartel like behaviour. Damn I such a pain in the ass I know. Its structural.
