And then the most #horrible dilemma again; = which book to read next. The more I read, the more work I have cut out for me and the more places I should really go. (With or without your help)
Funny how these so called protestors don't really seem aware of France's National Debt, their economic obligations to the EU to reduce spending+the fact that they have better pensions and earlier than the countries in Europe that actually make more Euro's to transfer to FR etc

Let's check in on a typical Johannesburg, South African Uber ride and see what it's like.
It's exactly what you'd expect - just a mobile crime scene.
Avoid South Africa accordingly...

An apology doesn’t erase facts.
Mao was a dictator. That’s the historical consensus outside China Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution killed tens of millions. It’s in every serious history book.
Demanding that anyone who profits from the Chinese market stay silent, or face commercial boycotts, is political blackmail, not “respect for national feelings.”
If calling Mao a dictator is unforgivable, then Chinese brands selling in free societies (Shein, Temu, BYD…) should accept reciprocal boycotts. Fair’s fair.

All these word games over Mao being a dictator, or not (he was and the CCP is), signify the reason why we - the West - can't defeat the Kremlin or the CCP: because we can't even identify the enemy. As Mao said, know your true friends and enemies. If you can't do that, your fcked.
The country is getting more and more Draconian. This is not a good sign at all.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, I’M BEGGING YOU! DON’T GO TO CHINA!!!
China has just made it legal to kidnap foreigners in China if they obey US law. New regulations could put foreign companies in a legal Catch-22: investigate forced labor in Chinese supply chains and risk violating Chinese law, or follow Chinese rules and risk breaking Western law. And with China expanding its power to stop people from leaving the country, even a business trip could turn into an unwanted extended stay.
Frankrijk: etnische statistiek wettelijk sterk beperkt, alleen Frans tegenover buitenlands.

China's massive overreaction to a soccer star's comments about Mao, media blackouts, forced apologies, etc. Actually shows that Mao was a dictator.
In fact, it shows that the country is still under a dictatorship and that it now has the power to enforce censorship overseas.
International soccer star @KMbappe should not apologize for calling Mao Zedong a dictator. Mao was a dictator, and by orders of magnitude, he did more harm to the Chinese people than a comment from a soccer player ever could. Mao was the leader of the CCP for decades and his dictatorship and disastrous policies killed tens of millions of Chinese people in the Cultural Revolution, the Great Famine, and other atrocities. Involved in the Party from its first national meeting in 1921, Mao is the principal historical figure for a Party that continues his practices of oppression and ideological purges. For decades, the CCP has denied the Chinese people basic human rights including freedom of expression and freedom of religion. These are rights enjoyed by Mbappe and millions of people around the world and Mbappe should exercise this opportunity to tell the horrific truth about Mao’s dictatorship.
The real disgrace in this news story is the companies rushing to apologize so they can continue to do business in China. The CCP is the largest oppressor of the Chinese people and their human rights, and those businesses that work with the CCP help normalize its crushing brutality. reuters.com/business/media-t…

If anything, this whole episode just shows that China is still a dictatorship.
One of the hallmarks of a free and open society is that you can make fun of its leaders – living or dead – without being attacked or risking your career.

China’s AI and tech stocks have already crashed. The STAR50 index of AI and semiconductor leaders is down about 40 percent in under four months, wiping out roughly $480 billion, according to a Reuters analysis published October 26.
China’s broader equity market has lost up to $3.5 trillion from its May peak. The CSI 300 has entered a bear market.
Retail investors who piled into the rally are nursing heavy losses. Unitree halved after its listing. MetaX and Moore Threads halved after triple-digit debut gains. Valuations had run far ahead of the West. The STAR50 still trades at elevated multiples.
Profitability doubts, high infrastructure costs, weak consumption, and potential export restrictions all contributed. Former PBOC governor Zhou Xiaochuan recently warned that large-scale failed AI investments could trigger financial turbulence requiring major support.
Beijing had encouraged capital into tech after stimulus-driven gains. The speculative phase has reversed. That stalls efforts to build a steadier market and channel savings into stocks. Global AI trades have also cooled, but China’s decline has been sharper.
In China, the AI bubble has already burst reut.rs/48foPk1
