A bit late (yet again) to the game in sharing, but I am super thrilled to announce that I have accepted a permanent staff position @esa!

Currently at @esascience’s yearly SCI-S Science Workshop (#SSW15) in Akersloot but today I officially start at @esa as a permanent staff! #happyface
Our paper, led by @EmilyOGarvin, made it to the front cover of Astronomy and Astrophysics journal today! It was great fun working on this with @kruksandor , Claude Cornen, Raoul Cañameras and @BrunoMerin !

Had to visit the famous landmarks of Mumbai before I take my flight back to NL today! So long, India. Gonna miss you big time!
Met these boys (2nd grade and 5th grade students) of a fruit vendor my mom buys fruits from in India, who are interested in astronomy. Shy at first, they started talking when I asked them if they know the name of the planet on the T-shirt I am wearing…..(contd)
The 5th grade boy even talked about the origin of the Universe and how planet Earth was formed. Thoroughly impressed! #STEMinIndia
Joined Twitter 13 years ago when I was contemplating quitting my job in the IT industry and switching fields to astronomy. 3 years later I was doing a masters in astronomy, then a PhD, then a fellowship at @esascience and soon I start at @esa as a permanent staff. What a journey!
Having changed careers from an engineering and software developer background to astronomy - a masters in engineering, working in the software industry for 6 years, quitting my job to pursue my childhood dream of becoming an astronomer, enrolling in a masters in astronomy../1
program and then a PhD in astronomy - this has been a hell of a rollercoaster ride! Super glad that all these “risks” have paid off and now I get to be in the field as long as I want! :) #followyourdreams
