Axios: House Democrats "inundated" with anti-Jeffries calls
Democratic House members and members-elect are being bombarded with phone calls and emails urging them not to elect Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) as speaker, more than a dozen lawmakers and aides tell Axios.
An incoming House Democrat told Axios they are "getting inundated" and have received "about 150" calls since the election urging them not to vote for Jeffries.

For years, my dad battled Parkinson’s disease. On Election Night, I got to tell him, “Pop, we won.”
This morning, he passed away.
A part of me believes he held on just long enough to see his son make it to Congress.
He won’t be there when I’m sworn in. But I know he’ll be standing right beside me.
Rest easy, Daddy. I’ll take it from here. These next two years are for you ❤️

El-Sayed: Does anybody organize in Boise, Idaho? No, not even Republicans. Why? Because it's assumed that they're gonna win, and so they don't have to do any work anyway.
So what would happen if we actually showed up and said, I think you need a union and healthcare. What would happen? I'd love to see it. We should do that.
