The Brewers are being celebrated like they invented baseball. They are doing things that have become unusual. They have an old school tough manager who players love playing for. They focus on basic easy to understand basic fundamentals. They have a hitting coach that was an overachieving player for skill that played in the big leagues. They hit the ball the other way. They value putting the ball in play. They adjust their approach based on situation and count. They are not addicted to exit velocity and launch angle bullshit. They bunt and steal bases. They do not have selfish superstars that need to be treated like celebrities. The Brewers simply play the game how it was meant to be played.

Junior College Baseball and the World Series. Jacob Misiorowski-Brewers-Crowder College Aaron Ashby-Brewers-Crowder College Logan Henderson-Brewers-McLennan Community College Robert Gasser-Brewers-San Joaquin Delta College JoJo Romero-Brewers-Yavapai College Cam Booser-Rays-Central Arizona College The Brewers have the best scouting staff in baseball and it is really not arguable. A lot of teams are lost when it comes to evaluating and drafting Juco players because of inexperienced scouts that need data and tech to evaluate for them. I have heard a lot of talk about providing junior colleges with technology. I have a profound idea that could be impactful. Hire experienced scouts that have enough moxie and feel to not require it when evaluating players. They can use their eyes and ears. Real scouts know how to evaluate junior college players.

Yes, but only with healthful permanent Standard Time. Permanent DST is a mandate to wake earlier, sleep less, for poorer health and profits for retail and golf industries.

Sal Frelick didn’t even think his game-tying homer was gone: “Murph jokes with me. He says I can’t hit the ball to center because it’ll be an out the rest of my life. I was just pumped to try to get back to the dugout so I could give him a big fist bump.”

Paul Perkins stood in a hospital room over Thanksgiving weekend in 2019, staring at a stage 4 liver cancer diagnosis and the quiet calculation that he might have about 90 days left. He was 70. A former New York Times advertising executive, husband, father of three, Navy veteran. Not particularly active. Years of client entertainment had left their mark. The biopsy at NYU Langone brought better news—the cancer was slow-growing—but the message was clear: improve your physical health, change your diet, and exercise more, or the odds don’t improve. Perkins’ answer was immediate: “You don’t have to tell me twice. I’m going to be the most physically fit patient you’ve ever seen in your entire life.” He started with 30-minute walks. Then he ran. Then he lifted. He watched hours of YouTube tutorials on core work and push-pull-legs routines. He virtually quit drinking and cleaned up how he ate. During COVID, he and his wife Juliana turned one bay of their three-car garage into a fully equipped home gym—cars parked outside so the barbells could stay inside. He logged sub-nine-minute miles and eventually bench-pressed his own bodyweight. The work was unglamorous and daily. An hour of warm-ups and dynamic stretching first, because, as he later put it, warming up becomes non-negotiable as you age. Interval running. Then the weights. Small, consistent meals. Sleep. Relationships. No magic pills. Just the boring, repeated decision to move even on the days he didn’t feel like it—the same way you brush your teeth. Five years later, after continued progress and a minor skin cancer scare, the relative novice entered the American Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation nationals in Boston. At 75 years old, standing 6 feet and about 165 pounds, he set tournament records in the squat and deadlift (best deadlift 105 kg / ~231 lb) and tied the bench mark in his age group. He won his weight class and was crowned the over-75 champion. The night before, Juliana had told him, “We didn’t drive five and a half hours for nothing. You better win.” Family, competitors, and spectators cheered. He still gets goosebumps thinking about the camaraderie. His kids took notice. Son Paris and daughter Tiffany now compete in bodybuilding; daughter Caroline started her own fitness program. Perkins’ simple message to anyone listening is the same one he gave himself: Just move. Start with walking or jumping jacks if that’s what you’ve got. Make it daily. Challenge yourself with new goals—he’s already eyeing Senior Games events that include powerlifting plus the pole vault, long jump, and high jump, building the core and jumping muscles while he keeps learning the technique. At 75 he is living proof that a serious diagnosis and a number on a birthday cake do not have to write the rest of the story. Consistency, movement, and the refusal to treat age as a finish line turned the patient who thought he had 90 days into a national champion. Just move.

Aaron Rodgers sat at that podium in Paris and said out loud what the corporate league office spends millions trying to sanitize. The NFL talks endlessly about “player safety” and “expanding the global game.” But behind closed doors, owners scrapped player-friendly bye weeks, forced a brutal 17th regular-season game, and shipped franchises across oceans simply because there was another dollar to squeeze out of foreign TV markets. While families and players navigate locked-down streets, civil tension, and grueling travel schedules, ownership sits in five-star suites counting international expansion checks. Rodgers doesn't care about league fines anymore. He’s telling you the truth: in the modern NFL, the brand and the balance sheet come first. The humans on the field come second.

I've watched the first two games of the World Series from beginning to end. I have not done this in a long time and it is like being in a baseball time machine. The teams playing, Milwaukee and Tampa Bay play what is called "small ball" which is to say don't rely on home runs to win games. This year the Astros hit 226 dingers. Tampa was 22nd with 169 homers and the Brewers hit 154 and ranked 29 of 30 teams. I don't know any of the players or who the coaches are. No big stars. No one with a $500 million contract. No nonsense. Get on base. Advance the runner. Steal a base now and then. Take chances. The two games so far have been tense and both were one-run victories by Milwaukee. In the 2026 season, Tampa Bay led MLB in one-run victories with a 25-14 record. The Brewers at .636 had the best record in MLB. Baseball teams ranked by salaries show how much richer players are in the biggest cities. The NY Mets pay $346 million and the Dodgers $339 M this year. The Brewers are ranked 19 of 30 and pay $200 M less than the Mets and the Tampa Bay Rays team is ranked 28th at $95 M. Cleveland, which almost made it to the Series, has the lowest team salary in Major League Baseball at $74M. So we have a Series this year that is not based on names you recognize from cities that have never wond a World Series. Enjoy it and hope it goes seven games.

Ready for sunrises before 8am? Standard Time returns one week from today, meaning easier mornings, safer roads, and better health!
Ready for sunsets before 5 p.m.? 🌅 Daylight Saving Time ends one week from today, on Sunday, November 1, meaning most of the U.S. will turn clocks back one hour and say goodbye to daylight before dinner. Here's a look at just how early the sun will set in cities across the country after the time change.

Why is it that no one says India is not diverse enough? or China? Or Singapore? Or Mali? Or Mexico etc? But Ireland, America, France, Italy, Canada & so on, all these majority white countries have to be diverse or there is something fundamentally wrong with them? So diversity is only needed if a society if majority white?

lol. This is why I never do interviews because clips are always taken outa context. First of all my career has been amazing and I’m not unhappy about anything. This was a light hearted conversation before a Nebraska game in my suite box about how “BACK IN THE DAY” some corporations wouldn’t hire some people they deemed “controversial” or “offensive” but yet they would hire other people that were controversial and offensive. That was it. That was the conversation Then here comes the news doing what they do best.. getting clicks by taking the 2 hour podcast outa context. Also, use a better pic than this one. Im much hotter now. lol
Larry the Cable Guy is calling out what he sees as a double standard in corporate America, questioning why some entertainers land major advertising deals while others are considered too controversial. The comedian says DirecTV missed an obvious opportunity to feature him in a commercial, suggesting his Southern accent and edgy humor may have made companies hesitant. But he points to rappers landing major endorsements, including Snoop Dogg, and questions why the same standards don't seem to apply. See the commercial idea Larry believes could have been a huge hit and why he thinks it never happened: foxnews.com/entertainment/la…

Larry the Cable Guy clarified his MeatEater Podcast comments were light-hearted remarks about past ("back in the day") corporate practices in a casual 2-hour conversation, not current grievances, and that his career has been successful with no unhappiness. x.com/gitrdonelarry/… foxnews.com/entertainment/…

No, Standard Time is just over a week away (with its healthful morning sunlight). DST is what’s ending (with its forced early waking in dangerous darkness).
