This is more evidence that the NBA is not an 82-game sport anymore. The old slower style was a good pace for 82 games. Slow, methodical, slowly probing the defense and figuring out ways to win. The NBA is way more physical, fast and demanding now. It's smarter, faster, more chaotic. It's more in the 36-40 game schedule range, like soccer. A physically demanding 2-hour slugfest, once or twice a week.
The season just started…

I need one lottery team to sacrifice a season for science: slow the pace, ditch the 3s, play the star 40+ minutes, feed post-ups, live in the midrange, and play the “right way.” Let them get blown out by 40 until the middy fetishists finally understand why basketball evolved.
Saying it for the 10,000th time. Analytics sped the game up and made it sporadic, which has led to a major increase in NBA injuries. The pace and rapidness of play is taking a toll. Hoopers aint chess pieces and robots.

Luka has 7 of the Top 25 highest usage rate seasons EVER He also has 3 in the Top 10 He had a 38% usage rate with LEBRON JAMES on his team last year I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger ball hog in all my years
No team in NBA history has ever won a title with a player having a usage rate over 36 percent in the regular season. Luka's current usage rate is 42.4 percent, and his usage rate has been 36 percent or higher the last 4 years he played a full season.

Difference between him and most of the others is they were FORCED into doing it Whereas Luka seems to be aiming to play this way How are you the primary ballhandler and basically calling your own number five possessions in a row? How are you launching 10 shots in 1st quarters?

Luka is a great, great individual player & insane shotmaker But his overall methodology is inherently bad basketball Constant ISOs Early clock jumpers A million dribbles Multiple possessions in a row not passing Throwing grenades to teammates I mean wow

How come the ‘LeStackedTeam truthers’ never list any of LeBron’s teams on their All-Time lists?
"I guess [LeBron James] got six or seven championships then. Oh, he doesn't. ... I ain't got nothing but respect for LeBron, but don't sit up there and tell me he got four Hall of Fame careers. If he gonna stack his team like that, he should have more than four championships." —Charles Barkley (via @ESPNNBA)

Most important years are 26-35 tbh - Often the early to mid stages of your career, esp for pivoting or advancing - Common age range for (first) marriages - Most active stage in terms of an unadulterated social life Most ppl either set themselves back tremendously or excel
Yep it was like that in college and early on in life. 14-25 probably the most important years of your life fr

You fuck up the backhalf of that period & you fasho gonna have to live off someone for the next 5-10+ years Whether that’s siblings, random women you date or your parents/extended family

There’s also the MLB idea where guys are never actually expected to play all 82 But then we’d have to listen to people bitch about “load management”
yeah it’s official Silver HAS to reduce the game count by at least 10, 82 games in the modern NBA especially considering that teams play at a higher pace and more aggression than ever before, not a coincidence that all these starters are consistently getting hurt

Pace is too fast My constant suggestion is resetting the shot clock to 24 for offensive rebs again Widening the court would never happen & removing the corner 3 is a long shot too Allowing 100% zone defense is another idea, but that might encourage teams to take even more 3s
Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton has sustained a left hamstring strain and will miss time, sources tell ESPN. Pacers doctors and Haliburton are now gathering a clear timeline.

If you screw up 26-35 (especially the backhalf of that period), it’s damn near impossible to recover Lots of dudes spend that time getting put on child support, blowing money on females & not utilizing time or money wisely

Luka ruined LeBron Bron was averaging 25/8/7 before he got there & sacrificed so Donkey could take his stepback jumpers with 18 on the clock, plus maintain his 40% usage

No one is forcing black women to fuck thugs and join their harem of women. Black women purposely fuck the worst niggas imaginable, then blame all black men for the choices black women intentionally make.

The level of movement was nowhere near the same Past players ran almost entirely in straight lines up & down the court Today's players: - Split their steps - Decel - Move diagonally - Lunging to closeout to shooters & get longer boards - Backpedaling to defend lobs - Etc
This is an Epidemic. Longer more intensive training camps please, to strengthen bodies for the rigors of an 82 game season. We played in canvas Chuck Taylor’s and never went down like our players are in today’s games. 🙏🏿💯

Shooters back in the day were standstill guys & occasionally ran floppy Today's shooters are sprinting sideline to sideline around screens & defenders have to chase them Guys have to defend stepbacks, sidesteps & more The stress on the body is bigger than ever

The difference between MJ and LeBron fans is that LeBron fans acknowledge MJ's greatness while MJ fans are constantly saying braindead things about how LeBron isn't even top 10.

Giannis doesn't adjust his game for anyone. He could have had the best PnR combination in the league with Dame, if he had been willing to set real screens and be the short roll monster he should be, but he refused.
Talked a lot about Miami’s problems on the podcast on Sunday night. Particularly on offense.
