Wild spaces such as Costa Rica are not only about biodiversity and health of the planet, they are about our mental health and our constant reflection on our place in the Earth system and our responsibility as stewards of sustainability. #rewildtheplanet #gtf2020 @NatGeoEducation

Thank you, DHS students for being ocean guardians! You are the now and the future. 😺🥰 Great appreciation to Patrick and Matson
Dimond High @NOAA Ocean Guardian students collected 480 lbs of debris off beaches in Prince William Sound and Patrick Simpson of PKS Consulting is turning over 300 lbs into Grizzly Wood lumber! Thanks to Matson Caring for Alaska! #ASDschools alaskasnewssource.com/video/…

What an amazing day at @RomigRocks @ASDschools with Model UN. Heard from @CNN Hero Teresa Grey of @MobileMedicsInt and @holageorge of the Anchorage Assembly. As Assemblyman Martinez said, “Block by block, we can change the world.” Starts with all of us, especially our youth.

“By my estimation, 75 to 125 million pounds of plastic each year is accumulating on our beaches,” Simpson said. “And, at best, we are getting maybe 500,000 pounds of it. So we’ve just got a lot of work to do, and I saw it as an opportunity.” alaskasnewssource.com/2022/1…

“NO I MEAN I UNDERSTAND I’M RUNNING AGAINST SARAH PALIN BUT I REALLY DON’T THINK THAT NEEDS TO BE THE CENTRAL POINT OF MY CAMPAIGN. I’M NOT RUNNING TO BE HER FOIL. I’M HERE BECAUSE I WANT TO ENSURE OUR STATE’S VITAL RESOURCES ARE CARED FOR AND PRESERVED FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.”

As a community, when things like this happen, we must shift focus from intent to impact. That is all that matters. Intent centers whiteness and invalidates the very real, sustained experiences of our Indigenous communities in AK. Focus on the impact.

Anchorage - this is what’s happening in our town. Our community deserves a library that reflects our community, not hatred, racism, transphobia, and homophobia. The damage these people are already doing is astounding and it’s barely started.

House Bill 220, sponsored by Representative Grier Hopkins of Fairbanks, holds the best promise to restore a reasonable retirement for Alaska educators and public employees hired after 2006. #akleg

Latest op-Ed. It’s already a crisis felt in classrooms. High vacancies, fewer preservice educators, mid-year resigning/retiring, low morale, the list goes on. Alaska better wake up & incentivize teaching & staying in AK. If not, we all lose, esp. students. adn.com/opinions/2021/12/07/…

Why not combine data collection and visualization with spring clean-up using @ArcGISSurvey123? @ASD_Info students cleaned up around @RomigRocks, collected and analyzed data, and proposed action steps for a cleaner campus. @ASD_STEM No, we didn't go into the street :)

Anchorage, we cannot have a thriving community if it is led by someone who doesn’t protect & elevate everyone in the community and thinks of some as less than human. Vote @ForrestDunbarAK. It may not be your life, but Anchorage lives do literally depend on this vote.

As an educator and parent I want a school board that listens to all stakeholders and has a whole child approach. A child’s education can’t be found in a mandated program. It’s all about people. This is why I am voting @kelly4Anchorage @carl4anchorage Dora Wilson and Pat Higgins.
