What is so sad about the French riots is how today’s dire situation was so very predictable (and predicted). Attached is a piece I wrote a couple of years ago, during the Paris Olympics:

Connecting the new press secretary to Steve Feinberg is an interesting twist…
And to think all this hullabaloo about her time in China is a direct result of William Boyce Thomson founding Newmont Mining. Imagine that.

Just finished my tax return for 2025. I paid over $6m in federal taxes last year, which dwarfs the amounts I spend on my family. Taxes shouldn't be anyone's largest expense... and certainly not by a order of magnitude (10x).
But, until I'm willing to pick up a rifle, I'm certain there's no way to prevent the criminals in D.C. from continuing to rob me.
What I find far more troubling is that the document that I'm required to submit along with these funds is over 600 pages long and costs me a fortune to prepare each year.
And ... don't forget... if my accountants make a mistake... this document can be used in a criminal trial against both me and my wife.
Please explain how anyone could possibly be responsible for knowing, as a matter of law, whether or not every number in a 600 page document is accurate?
And the best part? If you send this document to ten different accounting teams, you'll get ten different final amounts.
This is all nuts.

When the "reference discount rate" (mortgage rates) on an interest-rate sensitive asset like housing triples yet the price of that asset still rises 33%, the currency is the issue.

Important context needed: Trump previously promised 2 dividends and never followed through.
In early 2025, Trump publicly backed a roughly $5,000 “DOGE dividend”
In November 2025, he promised a $2,000 “tariff dividend”

Yes you’re paying a lot at the pump. Yes you’re paying a ton at the grocery store.
But neither hold a candle to what you’re paying in taxes.
At least the gas gets you places and the groceries provide you sustenance.

Madam,
We paid in, in my case for 60 years, but the money is gone.
SSI must be considered against all entitlement liabilities.
These promises are unserviceable.
We need to stop lying .
It’s always interesting to see significant financial developments occurring in tandem with forms of social and political upheaval.
While France makes news today for social reasons, their bond market should be making news for other reasons.

seems strange that in this age of AI Super Intelligence we're unable to accurately measure the jobs numbers
Very few know or notice, but this is not The Great Seal of the United States. The Great Seal has 13 stars above the Eagle intentionally arranged in the form of a radiant constellation bursting thru a cloud. This is not right
