I can write pages and pages about the economic damage of the malinvesment, the froth caused by AI capex, the crowding out, and how rates were way too low
In my wildest dreams, none of it could’ve ever been as effective as this tweet

From a banker's perspective, a good time to have a wave of loans repricing.

I was in college when the Towers fell and don't have personal stories other than the friends of mine that got last calls from loved ones. But this story is worth remembering and sharing.
Welles Crowther was 24 working as a stockbroker. In the middle of the chaos of 9/11 from the top floors he called his mother and told her he was okay. Then he tied a red bandanna around his face and went back to work.
He cared for the wounded. Found a stairway. Led strangers down, then turned around and went back up for more. He kept doing that until the building collapsed selflessly.
Months later, survivors began telling stories about the man in the red bandanna who had saved them, at least 18 people and his mother read the accounts and knew immediately it was Welles.
People talk a lot about honoring 9/11. I think remembrance should ask something of us.
Most of us will never face a moment like Welles did. But we still get a hundred smaller chances to be that kind of person. Today of all days, be that person.
There has been a strong buyer of Blue Ridge Bancshares $BRBS in the market, recently driving shares from $3.20 to $3.70 despite an awful 2Q.
This morning shares are halted, likely due to sale.
An increasingly typical event in the sector.

The best thing you can do in times of transition is:
Have one foot in the future, while grounded in great practices of the past...
Learn AI & understand the cutting edge, but still be reading real books & writing by hand.
Develop your skills, but still develop the self.

No one said that. But now that you mention it, USDC lost 13% of its value overnight when SVB failed. Only bounced backed because regulators bailed out SVB (a mistake). Do you think USDC survives the run if SVB isn’t bailed out? Genius Act hasn’t fixed this problem.

Because you know better @austincampbell Genius Act allows uninsured deposits, repo transactions, and 93 day Treasuries, each of which can lose money when fire sale liquidation is needed. It always works until it doesn’t.
Crypto opposed a prohibition on Fed bailouts for a reason.
