Santiago Castaneda (21) has such an eye-catching profile at the #6 position. 🇺🇸👀 Off the ball, he’s a proper ball-winner, anticipates passing lanes, sweeps up second balls, and dominates aerial duels with his height. Relentless work rate in rest-defense. Far from a passive #6. He pushes right up to the edge of the 18-yard box to sustain pressure, recycle possession, and attack the box from deep. High-IQ footballer.

David Ajagbe (2005,🇨🇦🇳🇬) ✍️ Ajagbe, a high-motor striker with a physical presence, is a nightmare to track on the last line. Currently playing for the Portland Pilots, he aims to build on his impressive 2025 season as he prepares for the 2026 campaign.

In 2025, David’s stats looked like this: - Games played: 20, starting all 20 - Goals scored: 10 - Assists made: 4 I’m curious to see how he performs in the 2026 season and if he can become an even better version of himself.

Possesses the size and build to play with his back to goal, successfully shielding the opposition. Performs successful cuts, stepovers, and feints with a defender on his back to turn and beat the opposition with pace and dribbling.

Exceptional in the air. High-IQ presser who forces turnovers and tracks back into a low block. Comfortable drifting wide or receiving under pressure anywhere on the pitch.

As a scout, I’ve learned one thing: Talent gets your attention. Identity keeps it. Here’s what I look for when trying to understand whether a young player can become special. 👇

MLS has developed more young foreign players than American players. That’s where the problem starts. Our youth teams are almost as good as any others & as soon as they turn pro they sit on MLS second teams or MLS first teams bench for years. Those same MLS clubs will spend millions of $$$ on young South Americans that have played 50+ first division professional games by the time they are 20 instead of playing young Americans.
