Nobu Dondrub, and three others monks were hunted and arrested for possessing pictures of the 14th Dalai Lama and for their communications with foreign-based Tibetans after his forgotten phone was picked up by the pro-Chinese police in Tibet. With no concrete charges and violation of any Chinese law, Dondrub, now 70, will remain in jail till 2036 if no help comes even as the US commission for International Religious Freedom and the Human Rights Watch continually criticise China’s growing violent tyrannical authoritarianism.
