In case you’re keeping score, Things that died this week:
The Republican majority
JD Vance’s political future
Election denialism
A Red Texas
Russell Brand’s freedom
Laura Loomer’s podcast
Trump on the ballot
LIV golf
Mike Johnson’s relevance
NY 21’s dignity
Katie Miller’s voting ability
The “manosphere”
Cyber trucks
Susie Wiles’s NDA
MAGA influencers’ Iran war support
“Total immunity”
Pete Hegseth’s sobriety
Mid-census redistricting
Elon’s $500 million
Vivek Ramaswamy’s concession call
TPUSA
Susan Collins’ “concerns”
But don’t worry…it’s nothing Stephen Miller can’t solve.
This is honestly the most convincing argument for Thomism that I've ever seen.

she has the opportunity to do the funniest thing
Minnesota governor-elect @amyklobuchar (D) on who she will appoint to fill her Senate seat: "I will do right by the state of Minnesota with that person."

Yeah, there will be no pivot to the center. This is what you get when you have an 80-year-old president who doesn't really gaf about the future of the Republican Party.

Stephen Miller is the most dangerous person in Trump’s administration and should be fired instead of promoted.
Americans overwhelmingly voted to end the chaos and lower costs. Stephen Miller has done nothing but sow hatred and foster corruption.

Zelda Ocarina of Time just came out. I got a pepperoni pizza and more soda than I can drink. There is no school tomorrow and I can stay up as late as I want.
It is 2026 and I am 45 years old.

When we return next week, we’ll get 218 signatures for Epstein Files Transparency Act II, which guarantees a vote.
Survivors will be able to get their own records, State Attorneys General can prosecute crimes, and we can take the DOJ to court for keeping critical files hidden.⚖️

i think "moderates did better on tuesday" and "anti-rich vibes used to be identifiably 'left-wing' but they've become fairly normie in the last few years" are both accurate takes, altho i expect a lot of discourse warfare between these positions in the next few days
This is not true though. Winning by 5 in a state Trump won by double digits (IA, OH) is a lot more impressive than winning by 7 in a state Trump won by 1 point.
El-Sayed outperformed the center-left white candidates the Democratic Establishment prefers above all else: Turek and Brown (both of whom I like, btw).
Just calling out the bullshit goalpost-moving of the moderate, milquetoast, corporate centrists who learn nothing and will F up everything if we let them.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
El-Sayed won Michigan Senate by about 7 points holding a swing-state Democratic seat in a blue-wave year. Turek flipped deeply red Iowa Senate by about 4 points; Brown flipped red Ohio Senate by about 5 points.

More moderate candidates won than progressives and the margins in the House and Senate are now large enough to prevent a leftist coalition from being able to hold the Dems hostage in the leadership races.
