Tick.com: SOLD.
$600,000 + buyer-side brokerage commission. @DefiningCom represented the sellers—leading negotiations, protecting their interests and overcoming major obstacles in a complex transaction. We then managed the transfer and closing, coordinating directly with the buyer and sellers. Getting an offer is one thing. Getting it CLOSED is another.

It's clear to me this was a helluva good buy. They now own the "brand" for Clarity worldwide. Forever. And it's a force multiplier for their existing efforts + appreciating asset to boot with a carrying cost of $10/year. Well done, @SimDesai.
we paid $3,500,000 for clarity .com Good buy or waste of money? @claritymovescap

Wise words. We're seeing this as well on our end via accelerated inbound interest in premium domains from end users...
I've been in the domains business for over 16 years and have watched countless ideas start with a domain name and die, not because they were bad, but because the gap between vision and real execution was too wide. That gap has collapsed. The latest @theallinpod nailed it. The AI tsunami is Internet/mobile scale. That idea you've been sitting on? You can build it in a weekend now. Stop waiting. Dive in and get building. @chamath @Jason @DavidSacks @friedberg

Kate Buckley is a powerhouse in both domain investing and brand naming. I've had the privilege of hearing her speak at NamesCon and reading her insightful Forbes articles. She’s back on the @NamesCon stage this year, and I strongly encourage every female CEO, founder, domain investor, and blogger to be there and hear her speak.

Domain Investing: A Call to Women to Lead the Future One of my favorite actors, Reese Witherspoon, once said, "I encourage women to step up. Don't wait for somebody to ask you." That statement echoes deeply with me, especially when I think about the opportunities that exist today—particularly in the domain name industry. Another powerful reminder comes from Proverbs 31:16-17: "She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings, she plants a vineyard. She sees about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks." This ancient wisdom couldn’t be more relevant in today’s digital economy. Just as women have invested in land and vineyards for centuries, today’s “fields” are digital—domain names that build brands, power startups, and shape the global web. From my spouse to my late grandmother, I have seen firsthand how women create wealth, regardless of background, age, or education. My own success as a domain investor is rooted in the wisdom and encouragement of my wife, whose vision, belief, and financial support helped me thrive. When I launched my first book, Accidental Domain Investor, it was her idea to bring copies to the global domain conference in Austin, Texas. We sold out in just three minutes. That moment wasn’t just a milestone—it was a testament to the power of partnership, preparation, and belief. To women who have supported their partner’s domain journey—thank you. But now, it’s time for more. It’s time for women not just to support the domain industry, but to lead it. Here’s the truth: without more women participating in domain investing, the industry cannot reach its full potential. We need more women: ·        Investing in domain names ·        Writing about the industry ·        Speaking on global stages ·        Educating the next generation ·        Owning marketplaces, registrars, and registries ·        Leading companies that shape the future of the internet Legendary activist Gloria Steinem once said, "Don’t think about making women fit the world—think about making the world fit women." That’s the mindset we need in domain investing today. Some of the most influential companies in the world are led by women. One of the most respected #domain brokerage firms in the world was founded by a woman, @katebuckley1 (@DefiningCom). But ask yourself: can you name a single domain registry that’s owned or co-owned by a woman? If not, that’s a gap we must close. The domain industry is at a crossroads. The next big leap forward depends on diversity and the leadership of women. So, women, whether you're 21 or 80, this is your moment. The domain world needs you—as an investor, buyer, speaker, writer, educator, broker, femtor, registrar, or visionary leader. The legendary Serena Williams said it best: "Every woman's success should be an inspiration to another. We're strongest when we cheer each other on." The future of domain investing is waiting for you. My name is Elie, and thank you for accepting my invitation. #Read, #like, and #repost.

Domain names are the foundation of online commerce. "But can't you sell on Amazon, Gumroad, or PayPal just fine?" Sure, but when you do — those customers are not *your* customers any longer. They're their customers. Own a domain name. Own your customer relationship.

Working with a pre-revenue start up right now who knows the importance of making the right first impression. Not an easy check to write, but well worth it in the end. #branding #startups

Branding matters—the data supports that. When bootstrapping, you sometimes need to keep the lights on and pour everything into your product or service, I get it. But once funded, your #1 priority should be rapidly expanding marketshare. Nothing does that better than a killer brand. And killer brands are built on authoritative domains. Don’t settle for less. Your growth depends on it. #branding #domains #defining
You secured funding. Hired top talent. But your digital front door still screams beta. Your domain is the first gut-check your customers and investors make. If it doesn’t look like you’ve made it, they’ll wonder if you have. Let’s fix that. #Branding #Domains #Startups #Defining

I used to think premium domains were overrated. Then I bought PropertyManagement.com. We threw up a basic landing page — and started getting sales calls daily. No ads. No outreach. Just trust. A great domain isn’t branding. It’s distribution.
