This year, Ukraine’s positions on the front remain stronger than they have been in a long time during this war. If our partners’ support for Ukraine remained just as strong – particularly when it comes to Patriots and other air defense capabilities – Ukraine would be in a much better position diplomatically as well. Just now, in October alone – since October 14 – there have already been several Russian ballistic missile attacks. Essentially, in two weeks, more than 100 ballistic missiles have been launched against Kyiv and the region. Unfortunately, there are significant restrictions on supplies, with air defense packages being delayed. I want to thank all our partners who provide their support on time.

CONCLUSION 🧵(1/2): Putin would have the world, and especially the United States, believe that he is somehow holding back from crushing Ukraine, but that he could do so at any moment of his choosing. The opposite is the case. If Putin had had a way of ending the war quickly, he surely would have used it. The effort to field an army large enough to make virtually no gains is costing Putin a fortune, driving up inflation in Russia, and generating increasing social discontent. Fielding a larger army would cost more with no guarantee of materially changing the situation on the front. That is why Putin is holding back at least for now. ⬇️ Putin has likely recognized the folly of trying to drown Ukraine in Russian blood and has instead opted to try to hammer Ukraine into submission with a strategic bombing campaign. The Russians have secured a temporary advantage in the skies over Ukraine through their jet-powered drones and the shortage of Patriot missiles that can intercept their ballistic missiles. But Ukraine is fielding solutions to defend against the jet-powered drones, and it is hardening and decentralizing its infrastructure to survive the ballistic missile strikes (as well as developing its own ballistic missile interceptors, although that effort will take time). The Russian strikes are currently devastating Ukrainian energy and other infrastructure and imposing a brutal cost on Ukrainian civilians—as Putin intends. But there is no reason to think that this strategic bombing campaign will be any more successful than every other strategic bombing campaign in history—all of which have failed to compel a country holding its own on the battlefield to surrender.
It is unclear whether Putin is lying about Russian gains or being lied to by his own military—or both. Russian military correspondents constantly complain of what they call “beautiful reports” that Russian military units send to higher headquarters, claiming gains they have not made. Ukrainian forces say that they have been able to use the Russian military’s own internal culture of lying to their advantage, luring Russian troops into traps because the Russians think that they are moving through territory they control. Leaked Russian military maps show phantom gains, often matching Putin’s claims. The pervasive lying within the Russian military is a problem for Russian soldiers, but likely an advantage for Putin, as it supports his own efforts to present Russian forces as advancing and winning when, in fact, they are doing neither.

As everyone already knew, "Russia is not my enemy" was hardly an organic campaign.
‘Russia is not the enemy‘ That's the message of a pro-Kremlin campaign targeting European audiences. Meanwhile, Russian state TV openly threatens Europe, while Moscow's hybrid operations target its infrastructure, institutions and security.

Ahh damn. I had my hopes that physically targeting would have had an effect.
Unfortunately, this is misinformation. There is no evidence that Russian propaganda bot traffic fell. nitter.gq/ryanmcbeth/status/2109…

Tucker gets absolutely schooled on the Budapest Memorandum and the myth of “no NATO expansion.” He literally crumbles when faced with basic facts, as does every Russian propagandist. Glorious.

Tucker Carlson lying as usual. NATO has *always* had borders with russia, the Budapest Memorandum was signed in 1994, and russia recognized Ukraine's borders again in 2004. The "subsequent verbal agreement" was a discussion with...the Soviet Union, which no longer exists, in 1990
Tucker got called out to his face on the "NATO expansion" myth, in real time, and starting squirming. It is simultaneously satisfying and embarrassing to watch. Tucker might be the most repulsive figure in American public life.

Ukrainian children unlawfully taken from occupied Ukraine. Forcibly transferred to Russia. Separated from their country and identity. ‘Rescue’ is the Kremlin’s word. War crime is the legal category.

I’d like to approach this as an indication of human use case issues. Automation Bias and Fatigue: When AI handles most of the work, cognitive fatigue sets in and causes humans to blindly trust the output without really looking. The "Diff" Blindness: Proofreading an AI's completed draft is psychologically grueling because our brains automatically fill in missing details and miss obvious mistakes. Diffusion of Responsibility: Because everyone assumes someone else verified the final product, accountability vanishes and errors slip right through. The so what is if we keep treating 'human-in-the-loop' as a box to check instead of an actual speed bump, we're just building a conveyor belt for garbage.

Fake News posts like this really show me how entrenched people are in their beliefs, and how they will blindly believe whatever users caption a video. @YosephHaddad quite literally never says the fabricated quote in the accompanying video. The debunk is the post itself.
