Oh my. If you run a business you’re an employer and you are probably working relentlessly hard yourself. You work at weekends and IF you take a holiday, you still work during that. You are definitely a working person. This attitude ⬇️ is why Labour is killing our economy. They don’t understand businesses are built by hard graft. By working people.

🚨This is EPIC by 🇬🇧 UK ex PM🔥 🇬🇧 PM Kier Starmer: "I don't care if my relationship got ruined with mindless TRUMP. I acted in the interest of my country as British PM. My focus was on national interest, not what others feel about me" 🔥🔥 THE LEGEND 🫡

Dogs are not lab equipment. They are family. A White Coat Waste investigation found one supplier shipped 1,518 hound dogs to 44 research laboratories in just 18 months. Many of those labs receive NIH funding. We introduced the PUPPS Act to shut down the puppy pipeline, prohibit breeding and commercial distribution of dogs for research, impose penalties of up to $10,000 per dog, and give dogs already trapped in the system a chance to be adopted instead of euthanized. Man’s best friend belongs in a loving home, not a lab.

When people say one thing privately and a different thing publicly, to MPs no less, it rightly raises serious questions about the legitimacy of the Amos Review on maternity services.
The @CommonsHealth committee to write to Baroness Amos amid claims MPs were misled over her maternity review after AI tool ignored evidence of normal birth ideology. Bill Kirkup tells Sunday Times there is a "conspiracy of silence" over the issue: thetimes.com/article/9499fb0…

The Chancellor is pulling a fast one on the self-employed. Labour spent the Budget pretending to be on their side. Dig into the facts, and the truth becomes clear. Labour plans to make the self-employed pay tax every month, or every quarter. Instead of paying on what they earn, however, it’ll be based on what the Government expects them to earn. So if they lose work, or a client doesn’t pay, they could end up with the taxman chasing them for money they never had. It’ll be like those estimated bills by incompetent utility companies such as Thames Water, which you have to spend hours on the phone trying to resolve when they get it wrong. Except it’s even worse as Labour is expending their power to grab the money directly from your account, without so much as a court order. What could possibly go wrong? It feels like the tax system is being set up purely for the convenience of the taxman. It would be nice if they just concentrated on answering the phone on time…

In today's good news. The Green Party have lost nearly 20,000 members in less than 6 months because of their racist anti Semite views. Really cheered me today. ☺️

90%+ of what the UK government is due to borrow next year will do no more than pay the interest on what it has already borrowed. We are in a downward spiral.

It’s this dismissal of reasonable people making points that are not fitting the narrative that makes people despise MP’s…

If you're bored it's totally fine not to tweet me every single day Kathryn. I know you have a lot going on with your new climate denial role too.

Rachel Reeves, LBC 6 February 2023 RACHEL REEVES: Well, I voted to remain in the European Union, I thought that was in our national interest. But almost seven years have passed now, we are outside the single market and the Customs Union, we have to forge a path outside. The last thing I want for our country is to restart the division that occurred during that referendum. IAIN DALE: If you believe coming out of the single market was so awful, if you believe coming out of the Customs Union has had bad effects if you think the lack of freedom of movement has damaged our economy, why wouldn't you argue to go back into those or allow those? RACHEL REEVES: Because those decisions have been made. And we are now outside, and I don't think it would be good for our economy and for business if we started a whole load of protracted negotiations over a period of time. What I'm putting on the table and what Keir is putting on the table are practical things that could be done now to make it easier for British businesses to trade across the European Union. The status quo is not working, we want to improve on it. But I don't want to go back to the terrible division that we had in our country over many years through these negotiations. IAIN DALE: Isn't the simple truth it's political expediency? Because you know that you'll find it more difficult to win back those Red Wall seats if you don't have a sort of bit of a Eurosceptic line in your policy line-up. RACHEL REEVES: No, it's a genuine belief and from talking to businesses, that what they want are some of the practical changes that we've started to put on the table to make our trading relationship easier. And the idea that another seven years of negotiations is going to serve our economy. Well, I just don't think it will. And it will open up the divisions, which I think did huge damage to us as a country and I don't want to reopen them.

When someone starts up a business they invest their own money, however eventually profits need to be greater than running costs. They can't permanently fund the business from their personal wealth. Lovely though pies are, pure altruism is not a good enough reason to make them.
